It is in public schools. In private schools it's a bit more proper, not really any vaping or drugs or whatnot (at least not during school, no idea if they did it out of school or anything), and the teachers a bit more strict, but the vibe is still pretty much the same.

As an Aussie I can confirm this is how are teachers act. All apart from our drama teacher and his husband.(they gay in a catholic school we love it it's acceptance) but one time his husband is just like. "Can y'all not stick to a fucking script?" And his husband(our drama teacher) walked out with the props at that very moments and hit him on the back of the head and said. "Don't mind him, he's a dick." Best duo ever! Also I'm so surprised they were aloud to teach cause usually in catholic schools even a mention of being gay gets you in trouble.

Sucked when he moved away and was replaced with a female drill sergeant, she didnt last more then a couple of months, no one respected her at all. Which in a way was fair she thought i was lying about my asthma to 'get out of running' but i legit was struggling. the girl that bullied me relentlessly actually gave me hers to use it was that bad.

the teachers unsuccessfully tried to eliminate vaping by doing a "smell test" on the kids, considering they couldn't just search them. the smell test obviously didn't work, as the bathrooms were hotboxed so often that anyone entering would instantly be marked for death. if you wanted to pee, hope you enjoyed the smell of sweaty vape soaking into your uniform and a visit to the year advisor (or the VP if they were REALLY sure you'd been puffing). also even if they could search the kids for them, they just flushed their devices down the toilet when they were done, sometimes completely clogging the pipes the devices. aussie school really is a trip
