High school students can soon spend majority of year in apprenticeships

A major shake-up to Ontario’s traditional schooling model. As Tina Yazdani reports, grade 11 and 12 students can soon spent up to 80% of their time in skilled trades apprenticeships.

This need to be implemented is USA , kids in school waste a lot of time.

This is good news - my son had a great deal of difficulty in high school and the teacher support was abysmal. Fortunately his school had an automotive program that allowed him to obtain his high school diploma via that programme. Today he is doing very well in the field - not everyone is cut out for university and most university programmes provide little of real value when compared to the value of trade and skill education.
