As great as the 2011 Packers record looked, their offense had to play almost perfectly each week and their defense needed almost a takeaway per game because they gave up yards in chunks.

same with Brady's defense that year in 2011. Gave up hella yards but still good at points allowed. People are hypocrite these days though as they view yards allowed as being a horrible defense when there's more to it than just yards allowed. packers got smack in the playoff real hard during this season and never quite recovered from it.

As a Giants fan, this reminded me of when they played the undefeated Patriots during the 2007 regular season. The lowly Giants neck-and-neck with the top team in the league. Same exact score, too. So when they played the Packers in the playoffs, I knew a win was possible. I just couldn't imagine how spectacular of a beating it would be, regardless of a handful of questionable penalty calls in the Packers' favor.

The NFC was very strong in 2011mainly due to the offensive fire power from most of the teams. The Lions and Bears before the Jay Cutler injury were tough outings for everyone but once Cutler got hurt it left the door open for Falcons to get it. As for the Giants they were on a 5 game losing streak after this game and somehow Dallas sill imploded and went 1-4 the last 5 weeks and the Giants went 3-1 the last 4 and swept the Cowboys twice within that time frame.

@@croixR I remember a few games the defense was raved about. I found it to especially be the breakout year for Matthews. But yeah you’re spot on lol paper defense needs to translate to performance. Yea well giants got em in game meant most that yr and went all way. Same thing with 2007 they lost to the Pat's packers and cowboys twice that season and ran thru them all way thru post season to win superbowl

I disagree. 2014 is the Season that the Rodgers Packers never recovered from. The 2014 NFC Championship was so much worse than the 2011 Divisional Loss to the Giants.

Brady never had to carry a atrocious defense like what we had in 2011. That’s why I’m not calling him the goat because he never carried a team. It’s a team sport.

Packers fans and Rodgers fanboys making themselves look like casuals with truly believing that the defense was trash when it wasn’t at all. Smh 🤦‍♂️

That’s what I’m saying. Defense in general was arguably at its peak in 2011 (tho 2011 was mainly a passer’s league w qb’s racking so many yards in passing). Packers defense was just a bit lower ranked in the 20s but that doesn’t mean they were bad. They were pretty good that year
@PeanutButterAndJellyBros
@PeanutButterAndJellyBros 2 жыл бұрын
@@mariosnum1fan their defense only gave up 30 points or more 5 times during the 2011 season. If they were truly bad, they would've never had a winning record to begin with. It's pathetic how they believe giving up 20-27 points is consider a bad defense.

@@mariosnum1fan you and I aren’t the only one. Lol I’m sure there’s some people out there who appreciated what the 2011 packers’ defense accomplished. The pathetic Rodgers fanboys and packers fanboys just love to hate on the packers’ defense. It’s so obvious at this point.

Better than Brady. Brady is super overrated. Always gets carried by a top 5 defense and refs every year in his career

@@andrewjones4774 Just think, it took Brady only one season in the NFC to accomplish everything and more than Aaron Rodgers has in his entire career. that's how overrated Rodgers is. 1-5 in NFC championship games. 😂 😂 😂
