Maybe there can also be crossovers that loop around like the bridge segment but on level ground so you would have to manage your speed to carry your momentum on the flat curve section where the crossovers would be

Ok hear me out. You add a couple switches to switch the cars between the tracks. If you have a switch in one lane and have it meet one in the other lane the cars should switch perfectly if the switches are set correctly

You should build a rail called "the long run" and make a steep twisty track with a slightly elevated landing at the bottom and see who can unbrake and get the train going the fastest, thus getting the furthest on the flat section. Kind of like the long jump, but with trains.. and without the jumping.

Add a crossover so the cabeese switch sides, and the racers have to play "chicken" like in a figure 8 racetrack. It might also help even out the tracks if one is harder than the other. This game mode is absolutely hilarious

Id love to see adjustable bank angle for tracks. It could get really spicy if you could have the caboose lean into a curve. Also would make off-camber curves really nail-biting as you'd have to really watch your speed.

A episode you could do is where you and your friends each get a train and make multiple trips to the iron ore mine and fill it up so you can make your 10 car iron ore train down to the smelter. Also!
