I'm almost done with this project, I just need to finish the binary LED display to go along with the digits. The displays are Alfa Zeta 7 segment displays from www.flipdots.com
There are 28 coils total on the board between the relays and the digits which are being driven by an ESP32 and and two NXP MC33996's.

This is not practical, it's art. I wanted the digits to display similarly to how I would write them on paper. I the 4 and 8 a little strange and have already changed that. The programming challenge was to display it like it is. Displaying the digits instantly is much easier to implement than what I have done and is what I did first but didn't like it. When I make the clock, I'll have different modes so you can see the digits display however you would like.

I'm sure you already know this but when your counting up if you don't turn off the segments that are also going to be used in the next number you should be able to get rid of some of that flashing.

I purposely wanted the digits to be displayed as if I were to draw them on paper and then erased in reverse. I spent good amount of extra time programming them like that because instantly displaying the entire digits did not look or sound as good to me.
