The vehicle fled from the officer, disregarding traffic signs, and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle was driving recklessly by the suspect, 32-year-old Jeffrey Miller, traveling at a high rate of speed on HWY 78. The license plate for the minivan was obtained, and the pursuit was soon terminated. A Sauk County Deputy came across the minivan minutes later on HWY 113 near County Road DL and followed the vehicle towards Baraboo. An officer deployed Stop Sticks in an attempt to stop the vehicle southeast of Baraboo on HWY 113/Water St near Manchester Rd. The vehicle continued northbound around the Stop Sticks, traveling at a high rate of speed, eventually crashing a short distance later. As Sauk County Deputies arrived at the crash location, the Miller fired gunshots toward a deputy before running off westbound into a wooded area along HWY 113/Water St near the southeast corner of the City of Baraboo. One deputy was grazed by a bullet but has since recovered from his injuries. Miller got away but was found several days later on July 26, holed up in a home in Amherst, WI. Miller refused to exit the home and after a standoff, he was found deceased inside of a residence in the Village of Amherst, WI.

@@FrantiagoProductions Gun jammed (means weapons are not being cleaned, means weapons are not being inspected) can't find keys for weapons in trunk, uncertain where weapons are in the trunk. It's all being done under fire but the reason for regular cleaning of weapons and inspections is to make sure that if under fire then you can actually get the tools you need. It's not merely these officers' fault it's also their commanders (for failing to perform inspections). Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to make sure munitions are secured and all weapons are unloaded so there are no accidents when cleaning them. But that risk can be controlled unlike the risk of your gun jamming. I suspect they were also wondering whether their rifles were loaded (which they likely were) and whether they were chambered (which they ought not be).

I’m the biggest Glock fanboy there is. However, I make no bones about them being mechanical devices in need of routine maintenance like anything else. I’m a GLOCK Certified Armorer, and offer my deep cleaning/parts inspection services for free to any State or local law enforcement officer in my State. Of all of the LEOs within my county, only one officer has taken me up on this offer. His gun was completely loaded with debris to the point where I was surprised it functioned at all. I think this Officer’s duty gun is probably representative of most LEO’s duty guns, generally: carried a lot, rarely fired or maintained. Also, the Smith & Wesson M&P series isn’t a viable alternative to Glock. I sold eight M&P9s to my local police department: of the 8 I ordered, two were defective. Of the two replacements, one was defective. I absolutely couldn’t believe it. I did 5 minutes worth of research into Smith & Wesson’s quality control, and it sounds like my experience is very typical of a lot of dealers nowadays. The down turn in S&W’s QC seems to have taken a sharp down turn when they moved into a new manufacturing facility in the last couple years. That being said, I’ve transacted God knows how many Glocks (both new and used) over the years, and has yet to experience a single manufacturer defect with any of them. The only Glocks I’ve ever had to replace parts in, are the ones where people replace the factory parts with a whole bunch of aftermarket parts.

What’s up with the Glock jamming? Seen a couple of videos where they malfunctioned.
@onefivefourzerosevenproduc32613 ай бұрын
A hasty/improper grip on the gun is my guess. Steel-framed pistols are a little more resistant to limp-wristing because they have more mass. Still prefer the Glocks tho.
@roc52913 ай бұрын
If you limp wrist a pistol while firing, you can easily cause it to jam. Your grip on the lower part of the frame is what allows the physics of the slide on top to recoil backwards properly. Many times when officers are firing under high stress, their grip is all over the place, hence why the gun that normally works perfectly fine can be prone to malfunction.
