as someone who does not like flying I would much prefer much more high-speed 'elevated' rail. Elevated well off the ground is by far the best option as well IMO, its takes so much of the dangers away from ground level(cars & wildlife etc.) its just such a no-brainer ;-)

Canada is in the stone age as far as passenger trains go. Why not just go MagLev, Montreal -> Toronto would only be about 10Billion, but travel from Montreal to Toronto would be about 1.5h lol

Montreal to Toronto's an hour and fifteen by air.

The biggest with Maglev could be snow storm and freezing rain.
