The idea for this came from @DrakeGamer85. He does top gear style intros for failrace in his comment section. "Tonight!, it's a rebrand to Cup Of The Week. We've got both the shortest & buggiest Cup yet. This is Lexer, with more Zeepkist, so expect to see:" 28:54 "Lexer gets into the 38s," 32:00 "Ronan goes off script." 36:15 "And a bugged checkpoint eliminates Lexer."

I second the change to ZeepCow! I also wish there was a way of knowing when these things happen without having to use discord, but I get it's much easier from an organisational point of view.

They usually happen on Saturdays at 1PM EST/6PM GMT. This isn't a promise that it's always going to be at that time, but if you had to blindly guess, that's what I'd go with.

It was such a tight cup. Lotta ppl were driving 39.0 to 39.3. From 17th up annyone of those could be eliminated

Showing other Zeepkist players was really messing with me. I did well in warm up, and in the first round. Second round started with bad frame rates so I opened settings and tried to turn off the other players. It meant that when I got back to the race, I only had time for one attempt, however the change in frame rate then messed with my knowledge for how to play the map and I lost it at the ribbons. I learned something though. I immediately added that toggle to my controller input so that next time I won't have to spend half my time fumbling through the settings menu. DNF round two, but still a good race. Glad I can see how the -COTD- COTW finished. I wouldn't have made it much further, but I prefer not getting kicked with a DNF.

@@GuitarAlex on a Steam Deck, bringing up the virtual keyboard and trying to remember which key I accidentally pressed to hide players when I thought I was typing into chat? No thank you. Mapping to a controller button is so much better and I should probably remove the "G," toggle chat as well. To use the keyboard on the SD for chat, you need to use the keyboard combination Steam+X, Enter, and then Steam+X again. Forget to press Enter, or maybe it didn't register, and then you're basically sending random keys to Zeepkist turning things on/off. The controller mapping works much better in testing in a post-event lobby. If I had a real keyboard hooked up, then maybe.

@@R.B. didn’t realize you were on a steam deck! How do you like it?

@@GuitarAlex it's a more powerful gaming computer than my Surface Laptop, which I primarily use for programming and work. Generally for Zeepkist it's phenomenal. It does suffer from frame rate problems on some maps, and as discovered when the lobby is crowded. Paired with my phone and tethering, I can take it wherever. I will only get a couple of hours on charge, but plugged into a wall, it is a lot of fun. After the version update which changed how input works, and the Proton updates which restored Steam Deck functionality, it does everything except map building. Typing into chat is a challenge, especially with the floating keyboard covering half the screen, but if you are fine with 60 FPS or less, and I grew up with a NES and PC which might give me 20 FPS on Doom, I don't need reflections or high draw distance. Coupled with mods, like the haptic feedback, I think it rivals a lot of other options which cost a lot more. Because of my oversized UWQHD display attached to my Surface Laptop, that system is locked to 50 Hz, so the typical 60 FPS of the SD is even better. I'm considering doing the HD display update to give me better contrast, as some of the dark maps are hard to read with low contrast, especially if I'm also playing with the brightness turned down. When Owl and L3it3r are complaining about frame rates dropping below 120, they probably wouldn't be a fan, but it is a budget friendly choice without a proper gaming rig and matches my current needs. It's like using a baseball bat donut, wait until it comes off, and I invest in a proper gaming rig to see my true competitive edge. I'm just training right now. 😏 Still, until GTR stopped working, that put me on the cusp of #100 globally. I'm never going to challenge the top ranked players with the SD, but I'd rather blame the hardware than admit they are just that damn good. In the hands of the right player, they could still probably put down great splits and records. @Lexer strives to be in the top 10 for CotW and for now I'm setting my sights on a top 20 finish without DNF.

Cyberpunkninja here (yes i have 3 differently named accounts) soo 1: sorry for all the glitches, especially the cp miss glitch that would have cost you the cup even if you got a better time, and 2: the reason it is so short was because it was denied for being too fast and 39 seconds originally, so i added slowsters to kill two birds with one stone, barely putting the track in the 40s

At first I was disappointed I didn’t make this one, I tend to do well on shorter tracks, but short tracks with speed setting slowsters I’m not good at😅 honestly don’t think I woulda made top 10!
