I'm a "regular" golfer and in Golf it works to show different shots on different holes by different players. But what I've really appreciated the last 6 months as I've gotten more into Disc Golf is the cool and unique way to watch the sport. Watching a single group play a round almost never happens in Golf, but because Disc Golf rounds are so much faster it's perfect. I'd love to see this sport grow even more and to make that happen you need keep this original type of coverage that Jomez usually provides. Tv channels are dead, don't let them push you around, online sports coverage is the future. Just keep doing what you've been doing and you'll grow past these old relic tv-channels. For the first time since I started watching Jomez coverage I think I am not gonna make it to the end. They really dropped the ball here trying to comply with the CBS format. I also can't imagine that people new to the sport are going to have an easy time following what is going on - I definitely didn't as a regular viewer. Also felt very neutered for a skins match - having watched GK Pro skins matches the usual banter etc. was sorely missed.

Unfortunate, but I believe it had to be under 44 minutes to fit in a 1 hour time slot, and there's easily an hour and a half of just everyone's shots. It seemed like after the first tee they were only taking the 3-4 best shots on each hole, plus maybe an extra tee shot or two. Paul and Rebecca just weren't throwing highlight shots, as evidenced by the complete lack of skins. Ricky had some amazing near-makes, and you need some context for those so some of Paige Shue's shots got in. I think they only filmed Paul and Rebecca's shots on the couple of holes they pushed.

I've heard some people say Paul's disc "Freaky Friday'd" with a gopher and mated with the first thing in sight which was a beautiful tee bird 3. after giving birth to 3 baby gopher disc golf discs they moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia where they still live happily. Gopher Paul's disc takes business trips every year to the dynamic discs open as the head of circle one maintenance. 👍

Seems like if CBS wanted this to be under an hour they should have had less players or not played doubles. I guess for introducing people who have never watched disc golf this was probably fine, but I wanted to see every shot. Still cool, just not what I was expecting.

Yeah I definitely feel like it could be super confusing to somebody who doesn't know the game just showing the shots they showed. Obviously it was the highlights from each hole but still, if I had never seen anything like this before, I would think seeing the bad shots would be a good thing to see so you understand how good the good shots are. You know? Guarantee this was Jomez's only option. Great work fellas and congrats on the exposure!!!

Alright it’s cool we’re getting some tv time, but KZbin and TV are ready separate entities. On this platform all shots should’ve been shown, there’s almost 4 hour podcasts out there. We can have a 3 hour skins match. I’m disappointed in the way all this is coming about with cbs holding footage as well as the usdgc being ppv. We need to figure something out

Wholeheartedly agree. The Jomez filming/editing polish was what got me started watching disc golf. I just want them to keep showing coverage in their great format. If things change because the sport "made it" to tv/cable, I'll just stop watching... (edit to clarify: not going to stop watching anything Jomez makes, it's still great quality, but will avoid CBS/PPV coverage)

I am always happy with Jomez. Thanks for DDO coverage and it was a much needed fix as I passed USDGC PPV. This one however has all the things wrong and reminds me why I haven´t watched TV in a long time. Compressed to 40 minutes...which means there is no continuity...big sexy going all "normal"...commentary dumbed down for general public...I get it that making it to TV is something for Jomez and disc golf but I have grown out of TV and this made it more clear that there is no going back. The format just doesn´t make any sense anymore.

If you had never watched disc golf, this would confuse the ever living heck out of you. Talking about the shot 'cuts'. I also understand this has to be trimmed down but you could argue that doing so, in this manner, loses the audience. Hell, play 5 or 6 holes instead of 9 if you have to. Disappointing.

Might be my first Jomez video I didn’t watch all the way through. anyone else feel like this is too serious for a skins match? i get its cus of CBS, but why isn't it just a normal match that gets featured on CBS, a skins match isn't really the best introduction to discgolf imo, especially with doubles

Especially with doubles, but alternating shot, but best shot off the tee. Super confusing to someone who is not familiar. Some weird hole choices as well for this format, particularly the final hole.

@@dekmar7954 yeah, you can tell they changed their vocabulary a bit to suit people new to the sport, so they def thought about it, but yea the format is way too confusing for a newcomer, and its not even representative of what the sport is normally
