Imma amateur barber but 20 year experience, started from no knowledge just imagined what it's supposed to look like and worked til in perfected it. Messed MANY heads up, til I got it all perfect, even when I faded one like this using ONLY clippers and a comb.. Super challenging But perfected. I worked for Wahl Clipper in Sterling Illinois, they have sooooo many exclusive clippers that is only for order and all you need is these. Trust me soooo good. I was never without a crispy cut. They are perfect.

Depends on what the hair is doing on that side. Hair has it's own agenda and great barbers like this guy notices those nuances and adjusts on the fly. For instance some have a single whirlpool and some have double then some, it's like all no fucks given. You have to decide on the fly how to deal with that and give the greatest cut everytime, No matter who it is seated in the chair.

Fresh clean cut and a tip Josh a little trick on the hairline I saw u layed the hair down before u shaped it up for guys that have receding hairlines I prefer to use the clipper over comb technique w the half guard on w.the clipper open its gives the illusion of a straight line and always hot towel before u line up and always git the shape up behind the ear 2x fire cut

So when doing the Afro taper, you set the #1 open then softened it with the 1 closed, and the took it out with the half guard. But with this high taper, you started 1 closed and took it out with the half guard and then removed bulk with the 2 and the 1 1/2... sorry I’m an aspiring barber and I’m trying to understand so... does it really matter how you start with the 1 as long as you take the line out? Or is the 1st way just adding an extra step?
