I grew up in Winthrop and remember two hurricanes in the mid 50's (Carol and Donna) that actually knocked parts of the seawall right into the street near Perkins or Tewksbury streets.

Salt Water ruins Car's Electrical Systems..Salt Water is worst that Fresh-Water. Raise the height of the Sea-Wall to around 20 feet.

Grew up in Winthrop. Its funny during storms like this people often say ‘raise the seawall’. Then during the beautiful aeather someone will suggest raise the seawall and you’d think they ran over someones dog. Where townsfolk say you cant raise the seawall it will wreck the view. Until the next flooding event.

@jjs777fzr That is so true no matter what ocean front view-potential-flood-zone, home residents always protest. At the NJ Shore, our governor suggested a jetty and raising of the dunes in order to prevent flooding and beach erosion. Of course, the ocean-front home owners living in their $$$million dollar summer homes launched an official protest that they would lose the view of the ocean. Of course, one winter Nor’easter later when the Atlantic waves are literally knocking down their front doors raised high above their floor pilons....
