I did not know that important info about towing my Yamaha. I looked in manual and sure enough thats what it said. Engine running or keep speed very low.

I have a 2021 RMAX2 SE street legal. I towed a trailer a few times on the road at 70 Km/h. Total weight of trailer+sand was 2 Tons (did not knew that lol). It was in high all the time because I don't know if I could hit 70/h on road in low (without it screaming). It pulled it like a champ, but I started slowly and sometimes I tested it to floor it, but thaen it did not pull well hehehe... So that was a bad move I guess... But still going strong! I did pull another trailer with muddy soil (about 3 tons) onto a muddy field, that was in low and 4x4 lol. Great machines... So was my 2007 700 Grizzly...

Yes sir, if you do it right you can pull a lot in high gear. Especially on a highway. It’s amazing what these machines can do.

Not an expert but I’m thinking with KRX having to be towed…leave the engine running because they have what is known as a “wet clutch” which is lubricated by the engine oil and they don’t have “turf mode”. Both rear wheels are always digging. Just to be on the safe side 👍

Agreed, always better to be on the safe side, it’s way cheaper. 👍🏼

Good info however I don't think you're changing your belt on the RMAX in the bush. That's a big job!!!

Definitely! It would suck for sure!

Hey now…not a newbie with atvs by any means but I didn’t know about this trany thing and towing, could see me just having the key on for the power steering and not running it while being towed. This hasn’t happened but gotta check out if this applies to my defender, Thanks Brian all the best for 2025

Have you ever changed a belt on a Yamaha Wolverine? Not an easy trail task. You have to tear the inside apart. Be sure to have all the right tools and a few hours to change it. Bad design by Yamaha.
@FishersOffRoad11 күн бұрын
Yep, not fun for sure, especially out on the trail. Adjusting the e brake is another chore!
