High Wind Kayak Fishing - Coosa FD Mk4

I took my 2022 Jackson Coosa FD Mk4 on Lake Ontario during high winds to see how it performs. I did a little bit of fishing too!
One thing I'd like to note: The Stabilization of the GoPro HERO10 worked really well in this video, unfortunately, it also took away from how rough it really was out there! You'll just have to take my word for it, it was much worse than it appears in the video!

In my limited time fishing lakers I found the fall bite really picks up. Try snap weights, I find them much easier to deal with than dipsy divers. Weather looks great tomorrow so I will be out trying new spots.

You can't go wrong with a Garmin Striker4. Best value for the money and they work amazing! I used one for a long time on my old kayaks and for ice fishing

I really love this kayak! It's really changed the way I fish from a kayak and I can do a lot more in this one than I could from any of my previous paddle platforms

Thanks for that. I've been thinking about the Coosa HD for ocean fishing on Central Coast of California. Seems like it should do fine.

Like I said in the video, Lake Ontario is no comparison to the ocean, but since making this video I've had it out there in even worse weather. I'm talking, 2-4ft rollers and it performed just as well as it did the day I shot this one. I'm confident it could probably handle moderate coastal weather with ease.

Great way to test the stability of a kayak. Do you think you could bring the pup with you in the kayak sometime?

I think the only way I'd get her in this kayak is in the rear tankwell and I'm not sure I'd like that very much. I would want her in front of me so I can see her easily while I'm on the water.
