When I was 18, I worked at a LTL freight dock loading and unloading trailers 10-12 hours a day. The company would have paid me to get my CDL, but being young and stupid, I never took the opportunity, even though I wanted to be an OTR driver, because I thought I'd have time in the future to do it. Now, I'm 46, I have an 8 and 12 year old daughter and a wife with stage 4 colon cancer so that pretty much means I wasted my chance.
