@Mofameister Жыл бұрын
Can't tell for sure, because they made multiple versions of many cars, some for maximum looks and realism, some for just special shots and some just to blow them up/crash them for the scenes. So maybe there's a version that has 2 working engines and maybe there's a version we're both engines are fake or only one works. I mean watch the behind the scenes, they really build all of those cars from scratch in a non movie prop way. They built them like they were going to keep them and drive them in their free time as a fun project. I'm not a car guy but I can respect the 200% commitment on crafting something like those off road monsters and drive them through the dessert while filming a movie

I love how High Boi pointed all the mechanical impossibilities of this film and rates it a 7/10 at the end... don't believe me? A W16 engine (found in Bugatti Veyron, Chiron etc.) has 16 cylinders so 10x16=160. A Flat-6 (found in Porsche 911 and some Subaru Legacy) has 6 cylinders so 38x6=228. Lastly the percentage of 160/228 is 70.1% thus High Boi rates this film a 7/10. Love the fine mechanical details bro.

Fuck I love this movie so much. Almost every dumb, impractical or downright batshit thing is this movie can be adequately explained with 'Because it's awesome..'. Why have a literal hype-truck with wardrums and a gaint stack of guitar amps being played by a dude with a flamethrower-guiter? 'Because it's awesome..' Why strap the one thing keeping you alive to the front of your car and taking off with your buddies on a suicide mission into the desert? 'Because it's awesome..' Why draw smilyfaces on and names your cysts? 'Because it's awesome..'

kind of annoying how ppl always hate on this film for having plotholes or being impractical/dumb suspension of disbelief yet never file those same complaints when John Wick does shit like that. They're both badass action flicks, why can't we just have fun watching cool action.
@eeyorehaferbock7870 Жыл бұрын
Actually, the “hype truck” did have a practical purpose of sorts: it was meant to be a way to communicate simple orders to Joe’s war party in lieu of radios, not unlike how armies used drummer boys or bagpipers way back in the day.
@rogueshadow7801 Жыл бұрын
With regards to the kill switch it is possible to hook it up in such a way that the vehicle drives a distance before cutting off. The logic is that if thieves steal your vehicle drive some and it cuts off on them they would be inclined to believe they screwed up the vehicle. This hopefully gives enough time for the police to arrive or for them to be caught on cameras sometime during the jacking. It's also nice if they think they screwed up the jacking process and leave the car.
@guilhermecampos4479 Жыл бұрын
and also, that if you're in the vehicle or near it while it is being stolen, they don't just force you to deactivate the kill switch, so also a security feature to the owner
@SynchronizorVideos Жыл бұрын
The more likely explanation is that the kill switch sequence worked on the rig's fuel system. So it was able to run briefly using the residual fuel in the lines/rails/carbs (not sure if the war rig's meant to be injected or carbureted), it would stall pretty quickly. This could make sense since a starter or ignition cut-off is pretty easily worked around, but cutting off the fuel supply can be done in such a way as to require much more time to figure out and bypass.

Cool to see high boi finally doing my favorite movie. Fun fact the language the buzzards speak in the movie is actually a combination of a few different languages like Russian and German because the director wanted it to be completely unique. Also both the engines in the war rig are supercharged V8s so there would be no carburetor with residual fuel so when max tried to steal it in the beginning it wouldn't have even started.

Not sure what being supercharged has to do with if they are carb'd or not. It's easier to tune a fuel injected, supercharged, engine, but carburetors can, and often in very high power drag cars, are used. All that said, a good "kill switch" will allow an engine to start and run for about a minute. first, it leaves thieves thinking they did something wrong and flustered, likely to just run away to avoid being caught rather than dicking around to try and figure it out. Second, it puts distance between the thieves and the owner in a car-jacking situation, getting them out of harm's way and able to get help, rather than having an obvious no-start where the thief can then force the code out of the owner.

0:25 - Whoa, there's a lot to take in there, I gotta slow that down... 🤣 I laugh-snorted at the EDP reference! 3:41 - It actually looks like the exhaust pipes are wrapped with a product called "exhaust heat wrap." Or at least the props department cleverly faked this to resemble a genuine product that would enable you to hold on to exhaust pipes with bare skin. If this was intentional, I would be both surprised and mildly delighted. However, her hands are gonna itch like a mofo later because it's essentially woven fiberglass insulation. Her head would be uncomfortably-warm against the exhaust guard, but probably not hot enough to cause severe burns. It actually appears to be mounted as it would be on a semi truck's exhaust stack, so they get some credit for realism. This scene is not impossible, but highly improbable. 5:01 - "...then they enter Darude Sandstorm..." **Sandstorm begins playing in the background** This is why I love this channel. Humor is always on point. 5:38 - If the filter itself isn't compromised, and the intake has a perfect seal up to the filter, one could clear out the intakes and filters and _theoretically_ have no problem restarting the engine. HOWEVER, judging at the hacked-together appearance of every other aspect of these vehicles, I doubt there would be a perfect seal. 10:37 - YOU ARE 100% CORRECT. NEVER EVER POUR COLD WATER ON AN OVERHEATING ENGINE. YOU CAN/WILL WARP A HEAD OR CRACK A BLOCK especially with aluminum parts. You can get away with it on cast iron blocks/heads, but not aluminum due to it's thermal expansion/contraction characteristics. 🌈🌟 "The More You Know." I personally know someone who did this to their all-aluminum-alloy engine, he ended up having to buy a junkyard head and paying me to replace it. It was a costly mistake he won't ever make again! 14:14 - OMG the Scotty Kilmer pic... **wheeze**

Regarding the fact that Max stopped himself very quickly before he fell off the cliff, it is possible to pull off such a feat, but it is difficult. Normally we are only able to do it out of fear of falling to our death. I can confirm that I broke this law of physics back in… Christmas of 2019. I was in Kingscliff with my host - I was living in a hostel for I had no home at the time - and we went walkabout in the bush nearby, and in these woods was a lake… as well as a cliff that you gotta be either brave or very crazy to jump off. I thought I was the former of the two but as soon as I approached the cliff, I stopped just before the point of no return. Had I stopped later, I would’ve fallen to my death. I broke the laws of physics to save my own life and instead of turning back, I took another attempt at jumping off the cliff. We all know how that ended, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this story.
