If you put the glass of water on a heat pad, the warmer water will allow the roots to grow even faster.

I would like to grow some, but I've never come across live stock. Have you germinated from seed?
@ANDavis-lq6md6 жыл бұрын
Hi. I got a dragon fruit from Walmart and tried germinating the seeds two ways - in a wet paper towel and in a pot of soil. I was able to germinate a bunch of the seeds in a pot of some generic soil, covered with a plastic bag, while the ones in the paper towel didn't sprout except for 2 or 3. I am unsure how to proceed now. They are like little white strings, no taller than 5 millimeters. I was unable to clean the flesh off the seeds and some of them had a bit of mold on them, but it doesn't seem to hinder their growth. How big should they grow before I re-pot them into cactus soil? There's like 20 of them in one plastic cup...

Thanks! I live in the Mojave Desert, already 100 degrees hot in May and bone dry air. Was given a 12" yellow fruit dragon fruit plant that had one tiny 1/2 inch root, but was severely dehydrated and shrivelled and rubbery, but dark green. I decided to cut the cutting in half, leave rooted half in the soil and try your jar method on the upper half. Hopefully I can save something from it. Your method was reassuring. When in a jar inside the house to root does it need bright sunlight or more indirect light?

Yes. Keep water clean. Water has more ox in with lower temperatures. Plants actually drown due to no ox in water. Other way is grow on heat mat.

Um, hey. Nice video and thanks for the tips. One thing which may seem a little pedantic here. "Organic" has become like a brand name with higher costs and all these criteria. A farmer in Burundi might not ever earn enough to buy artificial fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides and all his life he might grow food in an organic way, but it will never be sold as "organic" because he can't afford the soil analysis and vigorous testing to prove that he hasn't used chemicals for over however many years. And why should the label "organic" mean it goes for so much more? That's like paying five times the price to not have poison in your food - the poison shouldn't be there to start with and the label "organic" is all about profit, there is a huge "organic food industry" - that makes me sick, how can you have an organic anything industry, the two are polar opposites. So thank you, I will NOT grow organic, eat organic and be organic, but the food I will grow and eat will be natural because I don't like poison in my food or planet. Rant over, thanks for the video
