The quality of production on this is insane. Won't be long before the channel takes off if you continue producing these.

my family skis nordic every year on new years! we have a ton of beginners so it’s the perfect place for long, mellow runs that we can all enjoy together, regardless of skill level. great highlight of a mountain we love

I learned to ski @ Nordic Valley in the early 70's. The older beginner chairlift was called Troll and the advanced lift was called Odin. I broke my leg when I was in first grade while skiing the Troll lift. They used to have a concrete serpentine skateboard run that ran parallel to the Troll lift, that was a blast to ski in during the winter. Kind of like a crooked half-pipe sans snowboards. They also rented "grass-skis" in the summer. It's great to see NV still operational with the original lifts! They should get rid of stupid Greek names though. They aren't very "Nordic".

I went there in January and the main lift was broken, and then there was a power outage at noon after a big storm which kept powder mountain closed. Still kept skiing fresh powder all day by skinning up!

I learned how to ski and ride and Nordic. So many good memories there. Looking forward to this whole series! I'll take one of the independent resorts over PC or the Cottonwoods any day of the week.

Best place for beginners to learn! I was recommended Nordic after being stationed here and it's been a blast! Warm welcoming staff and easy to learn slopes make it the best for me and people wanting to get into this winter sport

Sooooo yeah, the first sentence is not true. The Wasatch Range is at the far western edge of the Rocky Mountain Range, not the heart of the Rockies. But I'll reserve total judgment until the end of the video. Edit: Great footage and info about Nordic Valley. It gets a thumbs up and I chalk up that first sentence as an honest mistake.👍
@evhbombastic Жыл бұрын
Absolutely NOT a mistake! The heart of the Rocky Mountains is wherever it is to you. It is obviously relative terminology. Unless you have never skied there. Utah is the heart of the Rocky's for me because I have spent most of my life there. I learned to ski @ Nordic Valley and skied there exclusively for my first 5 seasons with my ski patrolman father. The only thing wrong with this video is that it's too short. Colorado is too crowded and Jackson Hole is too expensive. I'll take Wasatch powder over anywere else. We don't call it "the greatest snow on earth" for nothing.

it's not really independent. it's owned by mountain capital partners, while it might not be vail, alterra, powdr or boyne, they are becoming a player buying up smaller resorts in the west including notables such as purgatory, az snowbowl, brian head and about a half a dozen others. but honestly, they have done a great job investing in each resort and making the mountain experience better. they introduced dynamic pricing lift tickets, which is starting to be considered or adopted by those other major corp, resorts. it has it's pros and cons. my home resort is az snowbowl and happy they own it.

Screw making your content keep these places off the map and making them just as bad as all the big name resorts. Literally doing nothing but ruining it for locals

Nordic Valley is not independent. It’s ran by MCP out of Durango awoke company.
