It is very hard to win guerilla war in the mountains with people who don't value lives. Just look at USSR and USA in Afganistan, Russia in both war in a very small country like Chechnya or USA in Iraq or USA in Vietnam or France in Vietnam or Egypt in Yemen in 60s. And yes the Suadi military has a poor quality of soldiers and officers.

I saw Tuscany, but not Piemont-Sardinia. The flag of Germany also wasn't black-red-gold till 1919 but black-white- red from 1871 to 1918 and the infamous swastika from 1933-45. Prussias flag was black-white, all horizontal.
