We RV camp at Mt. Robson Provincial Park in our Roadtrek Zion campervan as we continue our 2 week adventure in the Canadian Rockies. We enjoy great views of Mt. Robson and surrounding mountains, hike to beautiful Kinney Lake on the renowned Berg Lake trail, enjoy a peaceful campsite, chat about some differences between camping at a Provincial Park versus a National Park, and indulge in some tasty food at the Mt. Robson Café.

Canada parks appears to be so clean, unspoiled, and well managed land use.

We would agree overall...there does often appear to be a difference between national and provincial parks at times, with the national parks looking like they receive more funding for their infrastructure, but we haven’t visited many so that may not be accurate. Thanks for the comment.

Funny, I actually had to check our travel journal after thinking I saw our rig in your video. We left Mt Robson (Robson River) on the 19th of September, so you might have been just behind us. 😂 It would be interesting to know if we stayed in some of the same campsites through our journey! We hiked up above the falls to the Ranger station that trip, and it was well worth the climb! Such a beautiful area.❤️ Thanks for the videos! 😎

Add another place you need to visit! 🌲🏔🚐 Glad you enjoyed! And yes, most parks we have visited (not all) allow dogs on leash. Here they were fine, but not for backpacking trips (can’t spend the night). Day hikes are fine.

Great video, professional quality. I notice the water in the streams and lakes has a light milky blue appearance. Do you know what contributes to this color?

Thank you...we appreciate the comment! These lakes and rivers are close to their glacier source and as we understand it the minerals from the grinding of the glacier and rocks underneath are suspended in the water and give it the wonderful green and blue colours. Wonderful to look at!

Oh my goodness, I want to go there soooo bad now! Awesome video Gordon and Miki. I love the music in the video. Is the hike to Kinney lake steep or is it more of a flat walk?

Glad you enjoyed...and we so want to go back! Where we got to was relatively easy, a bit of uphill but nothing difficult! About 450m of elevation gain to the lake.

Absolutely breathtaking campground! Nice to see Canada allows responsible alcohol consumption. Most of the the state and federal campgrounds in the states do not allow it. Someone needs to explain to our officials prohibition ended about 100 years ago. I guess it’s harder to enforce the drunkenness laws so they prohibit it all together. Typical.
@hikenrv
@hikenrv 5 жыл бұрын
Most parks do allow here, as long as you remain within your campsite. We have seen some restrictions in some; no outside consumption past 11 pm, as an example and that it is likely tied to ‘quiet hours’. Thanks for the comment and we agree : a wonderful campground!

Do you carry bear spray? Do any of your videos show your battery and solar control buttons. I’m not sure our solar is working to trickle jar the batteries. We enjoy your videos. Thank you for posting.
@hikenrv
@hikenrv 5 жыл бұрын
We don’t usually carry bear spray when hiking closer to the coast, but do so (along with a smaller air horn) when in the Rockies. As for our solar, we may have touched on it but doesn’t really place often in our videos...it just works, albeit we only find it makes a noticeable difference during the summer months, and even then only during the main part of the day. Glad you enjoy the videos,; and we enjoy sharing! Thanks for watching and safe travels! 🚐

Love your videos! The Canadian Rockies are one of my favorite places from childhood family vacations and I can hardly wait to get there again. You do a great job of showing off places that I might have otherwise not been aware of. Just one thing that I'd like to be different - the difference in volume level between music and other sections of the video is bothersome. On my TV I have to turn the volume down by 3 levels when the music plays and then when it quits and dialog resumes I have to turn it back up in order to hear the dialog. If things were more balanced, it would be even more enjoyable!

KZbin provides a volume control on the video player, your computer provides a volume control right on the task bar, lower right and most aftermarket speakers have volume control as well. All of which invalidate your complaint. I'll agree on the "way to much" part...you are right, way too much lovingly crafted shots of the most beautiful parts of my Province, way too much seamless editing, way too much for so little remuneration, after all you got the content for free, right?
