"Cob" is basically what you use to build a mud building. It's a mixture of mud, sand, and straw that is built up into slab walls around a framework of supporting timbers. I imagine you have to collect the materials, probably mud or dirt and maybe water reeds, maybe some plant fiber you haven't come across yet, and then craft the cob. I believe the method of building is responsible for the phrase "to cobble together" meaning sloppy and imprecise building.

Long post, I could go longer but stopped *food buffs tip 6* A few tips as someone nearing endgame 5/7 towns liberated all t3 buildings and about halfway through weapons and armor research. About 30 people 20k gold 30k renown 1) Many of the T3 buildings aren't worth it a) 5 person houses cause npc collision issues and are Huge. Use t2 houses with 3 people about 3 in the same space. b) warehouse -overly huge similar to houses 2500 storage where 3-4 barns can be. barns being 1k each. Due to item management barns are way better c) Inn smokers (skipped tavern T2, but plan to build one to check) go to town management screen and Turn them OFF. Villagers will throw everything on them keeping you from making complex foods. d) pit- it's an upgraded mining camp ignore if not automating granite e) upgraded player houses are large vanity projects, only positive is larger storage that can hold water. 2)T2 game changers- a) upgrade hunting building ASAP it allows you to have Villagers actively hunt wild animals for all their parts and prioritize animal types (had over 300 deer hide at one point) b) don't have to liberate towns in order or keep them liberated. Find a town with a laborer if you want to spend any time in T2 and not brute force to T3. Once a town is liberated you don't really have to defend. You just lose ability to trade and hire apprentices. You can re-liberate later. -- more towns actively liberated the stronger the counter attack made to the liberation efforts. 3)towns trade resources that are restocked daily while liberated. Resources are unique to town. Bradford does hides and leathers, while horndean(the southwest town) does iron, steel, tin plate ingots along with other things. Crasmere for fish, hardwood planks, granite, and cotton goods. Padstow for thatch, logs, & planks. Starter town does bronze and some wheat stuff. Use farms and trade for the goods for what you want. 4) setup supply chain outposts you will need A ton of everything especially if you are not trading for it. Use automated deliveries to send them food while they send everything else back daily. Set the outpost guys to run away if not geared. This is why cleaning bandit camps is useful 5) place wells closest to a station using water. They stop during winter. Have about 2-3 water catchers per well further away to be used in winter. The 20 water already in them won't freeze. 6) Food buffs (yes only left goes down) great for early into late game. You have cauldron- prioritize Fine stew (combined with T2 hunters, garlic field, 200 stock up on mushrooms ) 1 cauldron per 5-6 villagers. Use fine stew for first buff. Buy cloudberry and fish stew from vendor on northeast side of lake. Gives around 70٪ xp bonus 30٪ production speed and 30% combat bonus with all 3 going. I'm pretty maxed out so running different foods with ±90٪ combat and huge health and stamina. 7) signposts everywhere - specifically bandit raid, and reclaiming army routes- hit and run with bow & arrow. If you thin out the reclaiming squads the town can easily defend itself. Kill 1-2 and run away after a few times they'll be easily beaten by the town defenders. I'm still running around in T1 armor but just upgraded to T3 bow & arrow. I'm able to take out about 2‐4 brigands out of 12-16 man squads now before running away to restock arrows and drop any loot off and travel to the next spot to ambush. * bonus- with 4&7 implemented- tons of outposts you get a lot of easy raids. Just use signposts to travel to and wipe them out. It's a great way to renown farm and a decent amount of book and gold income.

Regarding the foreign hut and lumberjack hut, put them in 2’s and surround them with a fence. Allow put hem in a large forest or on a big metal node

So in regards to building there's no real "block" in terms of skill since its based on labouring. The issue you will run into is in T2 some research requires specific things like apprentice farmer, carpenter etc. These can only be recruited from "liberated" villages. - Crafting on the other hand does require a minimum crafting skill. - Unfortunately the well freezes during winter.

I just found out about the needing T2 companions for specific research. I was excited to get a better personal house and now I've got to take over a town to get a carpenter

Couple of tip: 1. Rename your research bench to 1. Research, so it appears at the top of the list, also rename other accessed buildings to 2. & 3. 2. Your Foragers at your home base can get Reeds easily, no need to set up another outpost or get them yourself. 3. Do not stop farming Wheat, you will need a ton once you start making new buildings for Thatch. 4. Always carry 2 stone on you when exploring. Making a sign post to drop off loot is easy, I find the stone is the hardest to find sometimes. 5. Read all archery & agility book. Easiest way to take out bandits.

now that your Village Hall is done, I'd consider researching the House which I believe can house more people per. they can be clustered around the hall along with the Tavern. layout is a factor for ease of movement and defense.

Next unsolicited tip, now that you've experimented with the "E" command when you're out with your gang: (if you've alterations discovered it, I'm still playing catch up, please pardon me), but when you're done kicking Bandit butt, hit E and move the banner over a dead enemy until it says "loot area", then click. It will make your companions pick up the loot and then, when you dismiss them, they'll deposit it in your storage when they get home. Saves the trouble of playing inventory madness for half an hour. 😅

Also there is a quest which you have from Bradford I think where a lady wants 3 boar tusks, if you give them to her, he gives you gold and boar trophy, but it is just one way to get those, you can craft those and then you others for that quest.

As for the dropped bags by your people after the raid defend, I can think of two possible reasons why that happened. First, I think some people can have a negative attribute where there's a certain percentage change that they drop stuff (in a fight?). Idk if some of yours specifically have that attribute though. I think it's either a character trait that you can see when you recruit them, but could also be a negative buff they get temporarily? I've seen it on some people, but can't remember which of the two it was; permanent attribute or temp debuff. Either way, not good I think. Also, I think possibly if they have a full-ish inventory and then their weapon or shield breaks (which then automatically goes to their inventory from the weapon/shield slot), they probably drop stuff in order for the broken item to fit in their inventory. Think they should change that btw, just let it stay in the same slot, but not useable. Anyway, in you specific case: one loot bag was very full, so possibly a broken shield situation (or perhaps there's a third option where they drop their entire bag inventory (so not their weapons and armour, just the actually stuff in their bag) when they die?). The other loot bag was very empty, so maybe the 'butter fingers' thing happened for that person?

Also, no, you can't use the well in winter either. However, when it's not winter, you can get a lot of water out of the well very quickly (just spam the f key) without having to wait for rain. Idk if you can drain it dry or if it's infinite (haven't had it run dry yet anyway), but what I did is I built several of those other water thingies (the one that's tier 1) and then I get a bunch of water from the well and fill them all the way up, in preparation for winter.

i know that while making a video it becomes easy to get distracted and all but man, kage you have to try to read stuff. There are many times when you say you dont know how to do something and you happen to be in the screen that tells you what it is or what you have to do or use or whatever the situation is. for example, the hammer description does say it's needed for construction and btw while you ,as a player, dont have the stat for building, your followers do. It's called labour. they build way faster than you ; > while crafting items or processing materials, the required skill level is always written on the right side. also, if you dont use the O quick key to recruit or disband companions, you can scroll through them with R and just click on worker/companion to recruit/disband them faster instead of always use the mouse to do that.
