October 1st 2020 was a busy day on the New Hope Branch, with movements across the entire line from Ivyland to New Hope. Here's a breakdown of what went on:
J930 was assembled in Ivyland with SD40-2 #5577 picking up GP9RM #7010 to be shoved dead to New Hope for mechanical work. Two revenue stone hoppers were also added here.
A loaded MoW hopper was added to the consist at the Wycombe stone chute to be shoved to New Hope. Due to the lack of runaround facilities, it was ahead of the power.
The revenue hoppers were switched out at the Wycombe Team Track for collection at a later date. The power and MoW hopper continued to New Hope.
At New Hope, freshly restored and repainted SD40-2W #5315 was picked up by #5577 and became the lead locomotive for the return journey. This was its debut run following rebuilding.
At Lahaska, the returning J930 met a New Hope equipment move with GP9U #8218 and GP30 #2198, which had just collected a newly delivered caboose for the scenic railroad operation, which had been offloaded from a trailer.
J930 returned to Ivyland as light power with #5315 leading.
