I just bought one after realizing it's nearly impossible to find a 17 year old Scotch. Comes in a huge box. Thanks for the review.

Great review. Based on reviews I've read, this is what I expected. Sounds like it would be a great whiskey for ~$100 without the fancy packaging.

It's 53% and 17 years old. Nice offering but the packaging is more memorable then the whisky.

I'm a cab driver, not a CEO... I just wouldn't spend the money on all that fancy packaging. Besides, it wouldn't fit on my wall.

Terrible wall packaging for you. Nothing user friendly about it. 🤣 I probably wouldn’t buy this again @ $199. In general I’ve been disappointed with these Viking themed releases.

@@topshelfwhisky The only Vinking-themed things from HP that I have tried are the Valkyrie-Valknut-Valfather trio because they were on the affordable side. The only one of those that I liked was the Valknut. Mind you, aside from the age-stated range of Highland Park, the Magnus is pretty good value for the money, and for what it is it's not bad...

Great vid👍🏻 Think this one is better than the viking god series, gave it 84p and the Fire 85p😄

Loki, Thor, Oden, Light. Dark, Fire, Ice all just average Highland Park. The 25 and 30 year bottling s are where it's at for me.

Interesting, I haven't had this one but usually enjoy ex-bourbon HP. Sounds good. I grabbed a Glen Scotia 25 for $250 after I saw it won "best in show" at the SF awards and imagined it would go up in price. first impression is well executed with a strong coastal profile and slight peat, but a tad boring and lacking a unique profile, i.e., hardly "campbeltown." I think $200 and it's a very solid buy, $250 isn't bad though. It's a good whisky. not exactly "best in show" lol.

Those 25's still around or is it now gone?

I know that the 21st amendment chain in Indy had a bunch, especially at their 86th street shop. They’re known for jacking up bourbon prices, so I said what the hell and grabbed one thinking that they may raise the price because of the SF reward. It’s a solid bottle to start, nothing that pops out, but good. If you’re in the area I don’t mind giving you a 2 oz sample to see if you’re interested in the buy. Cheers

Hi Mike I hope you are doing great, I wanted to give my opinion about Highland Park whiskey, I bought a bottle of the 12year old and I was greatly disappointed to say least, I just can't bring myself to buy any other Highland Park whiskeys, the ice is not available in my area, not that I would buy it. I have wanted to buy other bottles from them but just afraid to spend my money on another disappointing whiskey, what do you think of the Highland Park 12year old, I'm needing another's opion,I trust what you say, and maybe I just got a sorry version of this whiskey, anyway cheers brother and keep the great videos coming, later dude !!!

I'm doing well, thanks for asking! I, too, wasn't impressed with the 12 year, I've never bothered to review it... I did enjoy the 18 year early in my whisky journey but I need more the 43% provides at this point. Highland Park has been a far better old whisky then young, in my opinion. The 47.5% 21 year is good, the 25 and 30 year were always some of my favorite whiskies. What Hp's are you considering?

Hi Mike I was thinking about buying the 21 year old, but I was so put off by the 12year old that I just can't find the stomach to purchase another hp for the moment, unless you can recommend one that I don't want to pour down the drain, I give anyone that comes to my house to sip a whiskey the hp 12year old, it's garbage to me, and can't get rid of it soon enough, I have over 200 bottles of scotch, and the 12year old is the worst. I appreciate your time and effort in replying to me, cheers brother !!!

@@bongson691 we did a breakdown on the last 3 21's they released. I'd likely not rush out to spend those prices if you're concerned.

@@bongson691 Hp21 the 47.5% is a good whisky. The newer releases are disappointing to me. I just reviewed the lest three releases, that will give a good idea… posted last week. Cheers

I tend to find the distillery offerings of HP to have a poor price/quality despite their reputation which really harks back to days gone by. However, give the Twisted Tattoo a go if you can get a bottle. It's 16 years old, bottled at 46.7% and price friendly. I was very pleasantly surprised.
