Might be 200 specific but the 200 race edition actually has a shorter stroke. I didn’t know that until factory connection asked me if I wanted the kit with a longer dampening rod…

I would love to see you compare the stock 300RE against the stock 2024 ktm XC-W. Both top tier bikes yet you don’t see too many comparisons between the two. Love the channel!!!

Hey Morgan, great videos, really enjoy the content. Beta looks great in white, I know you love your KTM and have had good luck with the TBI unfortunately a lot of other riders haven’t had the same luck with the way their bikes run, hopefully your suspension upgrades will even the scales, I wonder if their are some engine mods other then a high compression head that can be done to bring the power closer to the XC tilting the scales ever greater, having a KS and no sensors and no erratic idle issues or fouled plugs along with a petcock valve is priceless.

I think Yamaha tells KYB what they can send out to other manufacturers, it’s corp. sabotage. 😂 My Klx450 is an example of trash stock valving, haven’t ridden the Beta. Great video as always!!

cant speak for the stock race edition suspension yet but im hoping itll be good enough for me stock. i ride a lot of hard enduro but i like my suspension setup for the faster paced riding. i think either way itll be an upgrade from my 11 year old suspension.

Hi,I swap my sachs forks to a yz 250 kyb which i had shortened to match., feel better but quite stiff, can you recommend a good shim stack order setup ? I would bring the forks to tbt by i live in a different continent ..
@reineherrera889711 ай бұрын
Yes. The only way to have SSS KYB forks is to take them straight off of the YZ’s. The KYB for WP conversion also just standard AOS (Air Oil Separation) stuff.
@highlandcycles11 ай бұрын
Yep. Which is why I like the Dal Soggio Spheres for cartridges.

They are 48mm and the inner tool is a motion pro tool.

On rider fork/shock spring rates, do you use the rider weight plus gear? 185 + 10 boots + 5 helmet + 3 clothes + 20 plus pack is close to 220lb.s. Do you use a 220lb rated spring?

I have a KYB fork question. Not sure how many you answer over the internet, but… 10 YZ450. I did new seals/bushings. Seems to work fine, a bit stiff If anything. The issue is when I take it off the stand it compresses the forks about an inch and a half under the weight of the bike. Seems excessive. I was thinking I need to re do my bleed job and double check my fluid level on the inner cartridge. Does that sound like the right direction to check?
@highlandcycles11 ай бұрын
Yes. Also check the preload on the springs.

What is your opinion on the 300 RR Sachs vs the Race KYB? I have a 2019 RR , wondering how much better the suspension could be?
@highlandcycles11 ай бұрын
The KYB is a far superior platform. Out of the box it’s not amazing but it’s easy to make it that way. The Sachs is very limited in what you can do

@highlandcycles11 ай бұрын
We don’t sell stacks. The AER forks are tough to setup but we have had great luck with a cone valve conversion on them. We add a cone mid valve to the right fork then valve that for the customer. Work great.

Hmmm I'm not convinced there's that much of a difference between the AOS and SSS. I'm pretty sure the only major difference between Yamaha KYB (SSS) and Beta KYB (AOS), is the 18mm versus 16mm mid valve piston diameter. Both share the trampoline style mid valve post. Not to mention that even if they were exactly the same; the bikes would always feel different due to, mostly, aluminum versus steel frame.
@highlandcycles11 ай бұрын
Agree but the little differences make a big difference in how they work.
