They think people hate vids over 10 minutes and it turns out many enjoy getting a coffee, sitting back, relaxing etc. Sometimes I'm doing other things and listening in the background. Keep 'em long! LOL Put up choices 1) under 10 min, 2)10-12 min or 3) over 15 min. I'd bet #2 or #3 wins

Thanks for doing these vids. Giving me some good ideas of things to do. I'm running a 158 main, but will try the 40 pilot and NECJ needle. I live in Co Springs and we're a little over 6k feet, so it should be similar to your elevation and riding in the mountains. Heading out to RAM today for my first "real" ride (besides riding around on the property), so it should be fun. Can't wait to get up to the mountains for some single track, hopefully soon!

The Beta’s were known for electrical issues like 5 years ago. They promptly fixed the issue. It is important to point out that perpetuating old issues helps nobody.

My mechanic was a factory beta mechanic and his wife raced for them professionally and they said that greasing connections is important and that they still don’t have great harnesses

Still not great just had sator burn out after 70 hrs . And trying to get a new one is almost impossible looking into having it rewound. Was going to get a new beta in next few months but thinking twice about it now .

@@johnowens5988 yeah. The electrical stuff and the persistent crank bearing issues do worry me. But I have seen that the crank bearings have been upgraded this year and I hear that with some care and grease the electrical is good.

@@highlandcycles I own a Beta and have seen a few torn down over the years. I not only did what you are doing doing but also rerouted some of the harness to keep it from pinching. Heck Morgan, you work on bikes day in and day out. You know there is not a brand out there without some kind of odd issue. BTW, I liked how you cleaned up the bars by ditching those huge switches.

I have to say....because I too like to be 100% honest and truthful, I'm not crazy about the handguards. They sure look burly and I have no doubt they'll do the job, but from an aesthetic standpoint, I wish they were shaped a bit better as opposed to just flat. They remind me of the SXS ones Slavens uses. I'd throw on a nice set of Acerbis or Cycras

What I would like Morgan is how good this Beta handles without a damper. I'm an older dude ex "novice" desert racer. I can't imagine having a bike without one. You seem to get along on various bikes without them (even in the rocks). I imagine it's all in the setup and terrain. Thank you for the detailed build.

I am wondering if you’re gonna get Ann opinion from RK Tek on what he says about the dual plug and what his angle will be on an aftermarket head ( one or two plugs) Also do get a secondary hour meter on asap for when the stock one gets messed up.

The Beta Race Edition bikes remind me of a girls bike. The colors are so bright and girly. Great bike though, very nice! Your touches are making it more manly for sure.... The stock flags are wimpy and I'm not sure what Beta was thinking. As far as feedback on the videos, I like them a lot and watch when I'm doing work in my shop. Definitely would like them at least 45 min long, like the last two on the new Beta. I'm excited to watch when you ride the bike and you always provide honest feedback. Even going slow and technical, I don't see how it's going to out perform Loretta the Game Changer.

Why do you remove the thermostat? I know many do so, but you run the motor too cold on many occasions, and it heats up slowly. I ride in Thailand on KTM 300TPI and with the thermostat and it newer boils even though it's 30 to 35 Deg C here all the time and I ride technical enduro in slow pace.

I tried to look for those start/kill buttons on the extreme-parts website. They didn't show up for me. Did you buy the KTM model ones and modify them to plug into the beta? I really want the buttons on mine, but don't want the whole race harness. I'm not qualified to do a full rewire at this time haha.

It's probably part of the homologation kit. They come with a radically different expansion chamber and different needle to meet emissions requirements. The different gearing is to match noise/ emissions to a given speed (I think). Also a paper air filter. My dealer kept the expansion chamber to send back to Beta.

I used a black marker to cover the green start from Nihilo! They actually told me the black buttons had failures. Not sure why the color of the plastic makes a difference but I specifically asked if they could get me a black or grey start and they said NO.

If it's the Extreme ones that weren't plug and play, how hard were they? Also, have you seen the Ride Engineering two in one that bolts directly to the housing? Leaves lots of room on the bars. And it looks like it could never break in a crash. I hear the buttons are great too. I was thinking about trying it.

They drop in and have little Allen screws that you tighten and they push little pins out. Super fast and easy

Ahhhh cool cool. So you got this specifically for 1st/2nd gear slower tech riding. Gotcha. Those things are supposedly purpose built for that stuff. Wish they were a little more geared for fast XC/Hare Scrambles. The cockpit seems to be more set up for smaller riders and stock KYB is never a bad baseline.

Please excuse my ignorance I’m coming from a 2019 CRF 250f and just picked up my 2024 beta 300rr race edition yesterday. The dealer told me to run 50/1 fuel ratio. I’m curious why you said you were going to run 40/1? Would 40/1 be better? I just don’t want to mess up my bike and get the most reliability out of it I can.

KTM actually measures running time without the wheel spin, but Beta doesn't. Get out with some mates who's riding KTMs and compare the ART after the ride, you'll be surprised 😂 Of course this matters only if you go for a hard/extreme ride where the front wheel is unlikely to spin a lot.

Nonconductive grease in the connectors will prevent water ingress and help against corrosion.

Not right away. I’m really trying to make this thing a “hard enduro” weapon. More like light to moderate enduro for me. But I want to keep it light so I have less to pick up off the ground and that style riding doesn’t burn much gas.

The Race Editions in Canada are quite a bit more money than the KTM's where I live. I had a 2021 300RR which was a good bike, but hard on fuel. Maybe the two spark plug will make it more fuel efficient. Doubt it but maybe lol.

I just did. Settle down. And it confirmed my thoughts. It’s better at fast than I thought but not as stable as my KTM. That’s not bad it’s just different. I know you can set them up for speed but I’m not going to. I want it for the nasty stuff and the KTM for fast. Everyone gets so bunched up when I don’t think exactly like they do. That’s what’s wrong with the world right now. It’s ok to disagree. Everyone is different
