These shlogs I can’t get enough of. Absolutely brilliant content. Morgan you kick ass on all those wannabe mechanics and dirt bike channel kooks.

The 250 and 300 have a separate drain bolt with the copper washer the 200 is the the one you pointed too first. Also beta has all there manuals downloadable for free on there website in the support section. Including the service manuals.

Ski-Doo E-tec Shot start uses the magneto as a starter with a capacitor and Honda has a scooter with a starter/mag that auto starts when you turn the throttle.

Cool. I would love to see KTM or another modern bike do it. It’s probably heavy though

on the xcs definitely wire it to the headlight circuit so it only runs when the bike is on. Love the way sherco has them turn on around 170F with the relay on the Head.
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
170? That seems low to me. On the newer XC’s they don’t have lights or the wires for them unfortunately. That’s why I used a true north Motos harness for my light and fan so it turns off when the main relay turns off.

No drain bolt for the coolant? Sounds very Italian. Still, those Beta's are pretty sweet!
@nathangraves9133 Жыл бұрын
The service manual indicates to remove the bolt you pointed to in order to drain the coolant. I'm assuming the little arrow on the housing was Beta's way of saying "drain here"

Just seems crazy that it doesn’t have a copper washer

Coolant drain is the lower right bolt at about the 5 o'clock position. May want to try a NECJ needle in the beta. Wow he had way too lean jetting no wonder it ran weak. 162 main is stock and RK had me go to 172 but we are at lower elevation. 38 to 40 pilot here.
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
The 162 is what Kelsey recommended for up here. I like the N8RH needle here

Great video! On the subject of RK Tek heads, do you happen to remember the starting point jetting for the YZ250? I'm on the struggle bus. Thanks.
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
I know that we went up 2 or 3 sizes on the main. One on the pilot and then I like the N8RH needle.
