Kso the reason he is stuttering is because he is self censoring himself. Any F bombs or words relating to knife or shank got censored in the earlier days of Fire in the booth. Along with other words like grams etc. Not only is Lowkeys performance disgustingly good, but with cutting yourself off for censor would make it even more difficult interrupting your own flow.

some artist in the UK are grime, some are hip hop, some do both and it's the same for the drill, but Grime was birthed from Afro beats, Garage and Drum & bass music so it's always at 140 BPM. and the reason why it was birthed is because the streets wasn't allowed in the Garage Parties so just like the birth of Hip hop, Grime was a place for the marginalized to express themselves and if I had to compare to a US genre of Hip hop, it would be our Boom Bap.

Akala, Lowkey, Mic Righteous, Logic, English Frank, Black The Ripper and many more all fell under banner of The People's Army. All very conscious, political rappers. Lowkey had to take a brake as the establishment went after him, black balling him and dragging him through the courts with accusations of inciting terrorism with his lyrics. Fortunately it didn't stick and he's back now. Also, Lowkey is self censoring when he pauses as you couldn't use curse words back in the day on the BBC.

most UK artists start off writing bars not songs so they can use them on many different beats across genres. When i was growing up you would have a room full of guys who spit bars and a DJ who would play instrumentals and each guy would spit like 16s or 32s then pass the mic so you wouldn't know what instrumental you would be spitting on or what part of the instrumental you would get to spit on. I have always said UK Grime MC's can flow with any beat and most genres.

We have grime and UK hip hop they are different . UK hip hop is N.Y boom bap in a English accent . People like skinny man , jehst ,Braintax etc . Jehst alcoholic author is the perfect UK hip hop track . Grime is different . Grime beats developed from 2 step garage . The OG stuff all had a 8 bit style . Dizzy rascle I lov u would really be a good example of early grime . Or wileys gangsters. . I think you like that . The beat has distorted sound of a women saying gangsters ! Every bar lands with that as the punch line for the entire track . Over time the 2 have blended you get UK hip hop that's a bit grimey and you get grime that's a bit hip hop. Check out a track by Ocean wisdom and a kid called Remus . That's bang between grime and hip hop imo. To be top flight you have to be able to smash , hip hop , grime and drum and bass .
