Then that happened...I asked him what was going on (our seats were on the opposite side of where the FG attempt was), and he told me, "you will remember this moment for the rest of your life". FYI, I was also at the Michigan vs MSU game in 2015...same seats, this time I knew what was going on...

There are a lot on this video that absolutely belong, but a lot that don't either. Just because someone beats Alabama doesn't make it the biggest upset in CFB history. It just makes it a good win. Especially when you've got the team beating them as a top 25 team.

2023 Texas a top 5 team winning on the road hardly qualifies as a big upset (2023 at Bama). 2021 A&M over Bama was an upset but not a historic one. Also the 2021 Arkansas team was an 8 win team, Texas went 5-7 and the game was in Arkansas... like how is that even an upset? Colorado at TCU was an upset but wasn't even the biggest one in the Big 12 last year (South Alabama won AT Oklahoma State) Famous Games missed Fiesta Bowl of Boise St vs Oklahoma with the infamous Statue of Liberty ending 2007 Stanford at USC wasn't shown. Stanford was a 40.5 point underdog 2007 Pitt at WVU Howard at UNLV biggest point spread upset in history 45 point underdog I don't give many videos a "thumbs down" and its not like KZbin shows them anymore, but this one did for just a poor selection of games.

my son's senior year in HS, they were in 4th place with 3 weeks left and had 3 opponents that were still undefeated to end the season. they beat the first one 28-3, 2nd one 45-10, and last one 28-27 to end the season 9-1 and won their conference and make the playoffs. the last game they were up 28-21 with 35 secs, but the refs blew a call that allowed the other team to score a TD at the end. the other team decided to go for 2 instead of 1 pt to win and son's team intercepted it in the endzone.

@@kirkcoatsccc594 hell yeah it was. my son has autism and was a DL player. so the coaches barely used him except end of games. the last game he played, he was in for 3 plays. 1st play, he sacked the QB for 10 yds. 2nd play, with two OL on him, he tackled the RB for 7 yds. 3rd play, this time with 3 players guarding him, he sacks the QB for another 12 yd loss. his teammates were ecstatic on how he did. 2 sacks, 1 tfl, -29 yds allowed. proud daddy moment for me

One that deserves to be on this list is an unranked, beaten down Penn State team beating #2 Ohio State in 2016. It was a much-needed signature win that changed the course of Penn State football that season and got the program back on track. The players that stuck with the program through some of its lowest moments had a courageous and monumental victory, and went on to win the B1G 10 championship that year. It's a game that I never get tired of watching!

The Arkansas -Texas game wasn’t that big of an upset. When Arkansas beat #1 Texas 42 - 11 in 1981, I think, that was a big upset. When Arkansas beat Oklahoma in the 1978 Orange Bowl it was a huge upset. When Arkansas beat Jimmy Johnson’s Miami team in the mid 89’s IIRC that was a huge upset. Whoever put this together isn’t qualified to state these are the greatest upsets ever as their knowledge is limited. There are other booger upsets than these Arkansas upsets. Just thought of another 2 big Arkansas upsets. Texas A&M in 1975 and then Georgia in the 1976 Cotton Bowl.

Memphis over six ranked Peyton Manning and Tennessee in 1996 was the biggest upset I have ever witnessed. That has to be the worst loss suffered by the famed quarterback in his college career. Manning looked dazed and confused by the Memphis pressure in that game.

It's important to note though that Tennessee hadn't beat Alabama since 2006. Before Nick Saban was even there. And most of the losses Tennessee got against Alabama in that time were blowouts.

Michigan started the season with a loss to App State, which would go on to win the national championship at their level. Michigan would end the season beating the defending national champion Florida Gators in a bowl game. Strange season. If you had told Michigan fans that they would be 1-1 against App State and Florida, none would have guessed App State would be the loss.

Another one that could be added is the Utah win over Alabama in the 2008 Sugar Bowl. The Utah Utes ran a no-huddle offense and led 21-0 in the first quarter before Nick Saban knew what hit him. EVERYONE was saying that Utah had been lucky all season to end up at #7 (and they had had some lucky breaks), and that Alabama was going to wipe the floor with the Utes. VERY satisfying as a Utah fan to see all the Alabama fans just stunned, and to see Coach Saban so flummoxed. Those were days never to be forgotten. Cheers.

The G5 was moreso a term created in the BCS era, so go back to YEAR 1 of the BCS and you have 12-0 #7 Tulane going undefeated. But G5 teams were no even allowed to play in major BCS bowls til 04, so 98 Tulane, 99 Marshall, 03 Miami Ohio were all out of luck. 04 Utah, 04 Boise State and 04 Louisville all went undefeated, but Utah being the highest ranked G5 team made the bowl game.

And then they blocked the FG. My 12-year-old, sports-addled brain couldn't process for a few minutes what I'd watched. Total blue screen. Like...what actually happened? A&M beating Bama in '21 was not a huge upset. We lost to Memphis State in '87, and La Tech in '97. Southern Miss in '82. Also La Monroe in '07. Ga Tech beat us in '81 with a 1-10 season record. Those were the worst Tide losses I can recall.

As a Tennessee fan, not sure that I would rank #6 beating #3 over (looks at the Vols' records over the past decade and a half)...you know what? Yes. Not only is #6 beating #3 at home one of the biggest upsets in history, it's definitely the only upset Tennessee has been involved with at Neyland over the past fifteen years.
