Of course, Gabriel took the fall and tried to get a penalty. Why not since it was already mission accomplished; the ball had reached Rice. In fact, taking the tumble on the turf made the other MU defenders lose their focus on Rice as he took the shot. Look at Maguire's reaction. Even Evans lost focus on Rice as he was more afraid of the ref giving a penalty. And it was him who shinned the ball into the net.
