Really disappointing to read the gloating, bitter comments on this and other platforms (particularly the 42). I know there's history between the two clubs but this was a friendly fixture. People can be bad winners as well as bad losers, learn a little bit of respect and humility.

@John Madden I didn't see much respect in your initial comments. And the "up the ra" and Hun comments from others - were they respectful? Talk of tearing down a union flag? Cliftonville fans come to Windsor and display their tricolour "flegs", as you call them, because they identify as Irish and support the ROI football team. That's ok, it's their right to do that. I wasn't at either of these games, I don't go to friendlies. But I am a season ticket holder at Linfield, go to most home games and as many away games as I can. Like any club with a sizeable support, including Dundalk, there is a small minority of people who want to cause trouble, but on the whole we are simply football fans. As for quality, have a look at both legs against Qarabag and then tell me Linfield are rubbish. I honestly hoped this would lay to rest the ghost of the awful scenes of 1979. I think the notion of an all Ireland league is just that - notional. Won't happen, and that's maybe for the best. Good luck for next season , and I genuinely mean that.
