I know we were facing a weaker Flames lineup, but it’s great to see the team coming together. Broberg played a great game, Brown got his first two in an Oiler uniform, Lavoie got another goal and is all but certain to make the team. It’s making me very excited for next week!!

@@oilersrule9729 You are welcome. There is too much tribalism between Edmonton and Calgary. The weaker fans keep trashing the other team. Friendly banter is OK. Even differing perceptions are acceptable. For example, you said it was a good game. I disagree, but our disagreement is based on perception. It WAS a good game from an Oiler perspective. Plays developed well, the powerplay clicked, no injuries and a win. It was a bad game for the Flames. Allowed 7 goals, looked weak throughout, all the rookies and AHL players in the lineup did not perform to expectations and a loss. However, the regular season starts next week. All the wins and losses mean nothing then. Good luck to the Oilers this season.

I was surprised at the Flames lineup this close to the end of pre-season. I counted only 3 definite starters, and even those aren't top players (Dube, Sharangovich, Zadorov). At least half the lineup is bound for the AHL or outright release.

They absolutely can NOT put Lavoie on the waiver wire, he will get nabbed for sure! We need a 6'5" forward!! Not sure if we can send Pederson or Erne down to the minors without waivers but that would be the smart thing to do if we can! Lavoie hits the wire he's lost to us!!

I don't think that they need to now. At least from what I've heard other sources, it was either going to be between Sutter and Lavoie. Now that Sutter is off pto and retired I'm pretty sure that spot on the roster is lavoie's
@jacquechoi8 ай бұрын
Waiving Lavoie might be an issue of navigating cap gymnastics, and his agent knew that. Lavoie never signed for League minimum ($750k). He signed for $874k, and with how tight we are against the cap he might be the waiver casualty because we can't ice a full roster around his extra $124k.

@@jacquechoi ya that was a dumb move by him, he put himself in a much tougher situation and either we have to make his cap work or lose him. Kind of a shame we’re stuck with him if we keep him because lane Petersen has looked like a pretty good fit for 4C so far
