Arte Fuse, after reading many of the comments - I thought I had better view this again because I must of missed something. I didn't - I appreciate your work on capturing this for us to see. There were many very strong works. I have studied and enjoyed art for much more than a half of a century. I was watching the movements grow in the mid 60's and early 70's. I enjoy all styles of art and there were many in this exhibit that were very strong. I am not an expert, I am not an accomplished painter, I am not a college graduate. I know many of the rules guidelines, directives for good art. Art is not just following the rules. If that was so, we would still be producing portraits for the rich and religious sponsored paintings.Thanks again for spending the time to photograph this because I now cannot visit the great Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas.

We need a major revolution and reset of the art world and the money behind it. All this new age conceptual self-absorbed existentialism marketed to the public has become disgusting.

To all the art gate keepers: Yes, there is bad art, you can find plenty of it on Twitter and Tumblr. Usually, bad art doesn’t get far. I think if you’ve made a piece of work with your own hands that has captured someone to the point of shelling out hundreds, you’ve done your job. Art is about making people feel. Old classical art makes me feel just as much as that yellow and blue tiger did, but for two different reasons. Classical religious pictures put me in awe, it’s life like, it’s scale is usually grand, I could almost touch it. Modernist paintings usually make me feel with their stark contrast and stunning colors. You don’t like it? That’s fine, let people live. Traditional art is still cherished beyond belief in this society, so much so that some people believe that’s the only valid form of art still. It’s okay to not like something, but these people make other people feel. If you can show me some solid proof of a conspiracy than hit me, but I haven’t seen anything that sticks. Art is about moving people, so no matter if you like it or not, it’s moved someone else and that should grant it the two legs to stand on its own.

Thanks for commenting. You make a good point. To me, even if you don't like a specific work of art, whether it's contemporary or not, you must at least respect it... it deserves it.

So many opportunities of money laundering and tax fraud. Fascinating! And people wonder why some art looks like a cheap piece of shit. Poor naive people, they know nothing about art...
@SUBook324 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting comment about money laundering and tax fraud. I work in the tax preparation field occasionally, and your comment has aroused my interest to explore what the tax situation(s) surrounding the buying and selling of art currently are. As I understand it, one buys art, the price paid is their basis. Then, when they sell it, it becomes either a capital gain or loss. I'll look. Into it. Thanks for arousing my interest. Ciao.

Nothing wrong with dressing for an occasion. Maybe they simply don't want to look like YOU.
@234rhuib4 жыл бұрын
@@heraldeventsandfilms5970 in my country theres a saying that goes like this: "aunque el mono se vista de seda, mono se queda" wich literally means: "although the monkey dresses in silk, as monkey will stay". clothes dont mean anything to the authenticity of an individual. But... ok. if people or artists think that dressing in the opposite way than who ever they may consider opposite to them, fine. dumb to me, but fine then.

This looks like a great show, but why was it not shut down because of COVID-19. I know we all want to do the things planned, but there was a time to start to isolate. We all knew this was here in February. Great show, bad decission. Now many have the virus - possible because of this event and more. Sorry.

@@artefuse That is true. Unfortunatly I still see people being too close even in my flyover state. We all have our choice, but when our choice may cause others to suffer, we need to chose correct. I have a sign in my house that starts out that way - "It is what it is - but it becomes what You make it" . I read it with more meaning the day I was diagnosed with cancer. I hope and pray all will get well soon.
