How does the hq Holdens run the original 3 speed manual in those days.

originally it used to be 3 on the tree, a 3speed steering column shift, but a conversion kit was available for a floor shift.... i read that the 3H rules allow only a 3 speed gearbox but it allows for a 3speed floor shift conversion or a M20/M21 4speed floor shift housing adapted for 3speed too.
