Manchester City's pre-season tour of the United States began with a 4-3 defeat to Celtic in North Carolina.
A first half brace from Nicolas Kuhn and smart Kyogo Furuhashi finish meant City went in behind at the break despite Oscar Bobb also finding the net.
With Celtic’s Scottish Premier League season getting under way in just over one week, their extra sharpness initially told in the Kenan Memorial Stadium’s North Carolina heat.
A defiant second half display, spearheaded by the irrepressible Bobb, pulled City level though with Maximo Perrone and Erling Haaland both on target, but the Scottish champions found a winner through substitute Luis Palma.

Our defence was too open, and none of our good players were playing. We played well in attack but the defence made us lose the game. That left back was always out of position. It felt like we were more aggressive in attack which i like because i dont want to see a boring tactic. But haaland was class this game,he's trying to dribble more. He wasn’t awful though was he? He had quite a few good games. The problem last season was we never had a consistent lineup. Wingers were constantly changing, midfield constantly changing and defence constantly changing. Kuhn was okay last season, not great. He was also struggling having not had a preseason and joined in January.

Not really as passive as some of City's youngsters were at least. The amount of times they just left the runners and put their hands up for a hopeful offside was ridiculous, I know they are inexperienced and the conditions were humid and Celtic were more match fit but Pep wont buy any of that as an excuse. Celtic playing brilliant. The defensive frailties are still there albeit Haaland is a handful for any defence. Kuhn's play was great - even without the goals. He looks he's firing on all cylinders! O'Riley - class player and for me we should only be selling at the £50M mark. He's worth that all day long because he's an oven-ready ECL player. Kyogo's running for that goal was excellent and the pass was perfect. Great goals - all of them.
