1964 में रिलीज होने वाली फिल्म दोस्ती के सारे गाने सुपरहिट थे लेकिन चाहूंगा मैं तुझे शाम सवेरे सबसे ज्यादा पसंद किया गया था। मजरूह सुल्तानपुरी जी ने इस गाने को लव सॉन्ग के रुप में लिखा था इसलिए लक्ष्मीकांत जी और प्यारेलाल जी ने दोस्ती फिल्म में ये गाना रिजेक्ट कर दिया था। लेकिन रफी साहब ने इस गाने को सुना तो वो इसे फिल्म में लेने के लिए अड़ गए। उन्होंने इसके हिट होने की गारंटी भी दे दी तब जाकर ये गाना फिल्म में लिया गया। संगीत प्रेमियों को ऐसी सुरीली सौगात देने के लिए बहुत बहुत आभार प्यारेलाल जी।

माफ करना, एस-जे, एस डी बर्मन जी, सलिल चौधुरी जी, श्री रवीन्द्र जैन जी, आर डी बर्मन जी, के-ए, रवि जी, खैयाम साहब, इलाइया राजा, ए आर रहमान, बापी लाहिड़ी, नदीम -श्रवन, आनंद-मिलिंद, यतीन- ललित, इए सब और बहुत सारे गुणी संगीतकार ने भी बहुत से हिट , सुपर हिट, ब्लक बास्टर, अल टाइम हिट और साथ ही साथ बेहतरीन गाने दिए हैं। और बहुत पुराने जमाने की उल्लेख हमने इहां किए नही हैं। हं, एल-पी ने सबसे ज्यादा बॉलिवुड फिल्मि गानो मे संगीत दिए हैं। गुगुल यैसा ही बताते हैं। माफी चाहेगें , हम ओ पी नायार जी और श्री मदन मोहन जी और श्री रोशन जी के नाम के उल्लेख नही किए थे। अब इए सब महान संगीतकार के नाम को भी हम श्रद्धापूर्वक इहां उल्लेख कर रहे हैं।

इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं कि बॉलीवुड में बहुत गुणी संगीतकार दिए है लेकिन इतने लंबे समय तक सबसे ज्यादा फिल्मों में संगीत देने के बावजूद संगीत के उच्च स्तर तक बनाए रखना ही उनको महान बनाती है । आज भी जब संगीत के गोल्डन era की बात करते है LP जोड़ी के संगीतबद्ध गाने सबसे ज्यादा सुने जाते है।
