Throwback fight! Belgium Open 2013 finals! I made my way to the finals to meet Johan from Indonesia who was at the time the World Champion in my weight category. I had watched him win his semi-final fight. He was a forward fighter, a bit of a brawler, strong, and good at takedowns so the strategy was to circle the ring, use distance, and pick my attacking moments. I almost had it... i think, but lost it all in the 3rd round where i lost concentration and tactics... good memory either way!

Sorry for the late reply. Good question. In the UK sport Silat is an amateur sport. You cant do it professionally. So as you get older you unfortunately have to focus on work, career etc..

No it's not a technique, it's just a normal movement👍 But sometimes, hand or foot movements like that can trick the opponent if done quickly / surprise, and we can attack him by surprise too😂

Dublers i mean that silat was designes to go directly for lethat strikes or at least blows that would incapacitaté the opponent faster (balls, throat, eyes) while other martial arts may put more focus on the legs or arms. When you train knowing that those areas will likely be the main target, its user might be hesitant to get close. To be honest I’m just an amature so you’re free to explain me otherwise

Its the sport version of pencak silat, they fight for points to win. Its hardly different to fight to beat the opponents like a real fight,of course silat will be more deadly and use different technique not as the fight at championship or friendly sparring. So dont look this at the same things like a real fight!!!

I have, but you must agree on a few things before you sparr at lest in my experience..there is a risk that your bones get broken or your arm dislocated During the sparr its up to you when you want to end it....and I got my shoulder dislocated cuz I was too stubborn to surrender...in sports it really looks awkward but during your own personal time you can use non lethal techniques to its fullest potential. And it works trust me I've been in street fights before, I still got a scar on my back
