From an England supporter: Scotland did their homework. They saw how Italy scored tries out wide and did the same. Russell's pass was the pass of the season, even more incredible when you think how much pressure he was under.

I'm English, and I must say the behaviour of some of our fans on social media is appalling. I have great respect for the Scots and fully admit they outplayed us in every aspect of the game; the result was not due to Nigel Owens' refereeing decisions (which were not dubious at all, he had a fantastic game). He is without a doubt the best ref in the world. For what its worth, I apologise on behalf of England for the idiots on Twitter etc., please understand that most of us accept the result and it is just the moronic minority on social media making the rest of us look bad. Great game and well played Scotland!

Ah Dan you are magnifying a small sad bunch of english people, a few complete arses who lack magnanimity, they were probably soccer fans anyway. I did see a variety of comments, but what exactly are you referring to on Nigel? I saw someone say words to the effect of him having money stuffed in unfaltering underwear, so classy. Well Nigel is certainly better than that halfwit Craig from South Africa. Scotland turned up and played a superb match and it was a privilege to watch.
@danieljohnson5496 жыл бұрын
CJ, I'm referring to all his refereeing calls which were spot on - no complaints at all from me. ;-)

Dan I changed my mind, my original comment elsewhere on this video got me called an uncle tom, I just made quite a neutral comment, maybe being an arse is now a prerequisite for being a sports watcher south of the border.

Scotland did exactly what they've been doing in the authum internationals, and it worked brilliantly. If Scotland's jackals aren't firing then they have a hard time. Watson and Barclay both had great matches today. The Front 3 were outstanding, bar a few poor lineouts. I loved that fact that as soon as WP Nel came on, he won a scrum penalty! The attacking backline was outstanding and Huw Jones...... well if he keeps playing like he is he'll be world class in no time. Scotland are still in this tournament. A victory against Ireland (asking a lot) and who knows. Nevertheless, enjoy the win lads. Couldn't be prouder.

Congratulations Scotland! Thoroughly deserved win. Huw Jones is a real player. His 2nd try reminded me of O'Driscoll down under for the Lions in 2001. As an England fan, hopefully this defeat acts as a big learning curve for us - we need to address our back-row. Dominated today by Barclay and co. Genuinely hope Scotland can build on this performance and find some consistency too. See you down Twickers next year!

I am in England and am English. I do not exactly support Scotland that'd be absurd, but there is something I dislike about the English rugby team they seem rather arrogant, so thanks Scotland for providing the timely shellacking that should suffice as a wake up call. I actually live a few miles away from the Border and don't mind you lot, during the world cup I randomly came across the team on my weekend morning run in a wood in Newcastle they were having a walk before the epic clash with Samoa 33-36, had a chat with some of the players, wished them well.

Well Alex really excels at this extra special form of mentally stunted decrepitude. Here is a tip Alex learn how to comprehend a comment and the subtleties that one can attribute, failing that just continue being an absolute drongo, it suits you. Oh and how am I supposed to regard scottish people in future? People like scottish players and fans? My prem team has an actual connection with the Scottish Rugby Union, additionally the club legend from scotland just got diagnosed with an incurable disease, should I show him my English hatred of scotland and wish him pure suffering in his struggle with his medical affliction? You daft fuck, grow up.

@SuP3rhUm4N1006 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify the Danny Care interception for the English who are roasting Owens (English fan): Joe Launchbury was in full right to compete for the ball, he was just not supporting his own body weight at all. Owens didn't blow a Scottish penalty there and then to allow the game to run. The illegally slow ball allowed Care to position himself for the interception. Owens then told Hartley afterwards as to why Launchbury was penalised. There is enough evidence in this video to show Launchbury's knee hit the floor, sorry chaps but there is no way he could have stood up if the pile of bodies weren't there. It was a great game, unfortunately we were beaten by the better side today.
@simonjeffs756 жыл бұрын
ok you've cleared the care interception up. now tell me why watson wasn't pinged for grabbing farrell around the neck and lifting him up at the breakdown just before maitland scored? and I don't want to hear that views were blocked because mr owens wasn't and the tmo's obviously wasn't and yet, despite the clamp down on such things, they chose to completely ignore it!!!

seize cj stop the clip at 3:02 and tell if that right arm is around farrell chest or neck? means nothing now, just used it as a case in point.
@moraybarclay5 жыл бұрын
@@simonjeffs75 Just looking at this in advance of Autumn internationals hence late reply - not sure f you're a referee in any team sport before and if you are apologies in advance but from personal experience you are so focused on what is in front of you it is harder to be biased than not. There's also the player reaction, looking at it frame by frame the clear out by Watson is marginal and respect to Farrell for just getting on with it, and if Farrell of all players had felt neck grabbed his reaction would I am sure have been different. He's not exactly the least hot-headed of players, starting a barney in the tunnel before the match, and seems unlikely he would not have kicked off if he perceived that he had been illegally tackle. Respect to Farrell for that. Compare his reaction to that of Danny Care earlier after Barclay had tackled Ford, got on his feet, re-entered via the gate, and grabbed the ball. At 2:27 Care is looking up for a referee decision. That was world class refereeing.
@simonjeffs755 жыл бұрын
@@moraybarclay it's by the by now mate. But I will say that, yes owens is a top ref and yes 99% of his calls that day were spot on. Wasn't an issue, the calls he chose not to make were. Momentum is a big thing in sport and owens gave Scotland that momentum by constantly picking up on any minor infringement England committed, and to be fair they committed a lot, but not the Scots. The farrell incident is just a case in point. No matter how you view it he is 100% grabbed around the neck, whether he gets up and makes a song and dance about it is irrelevant. Dangerous play in full view of owens and yet nothing!!! No question that Scotland deserved the win, England's first half display was shambolic, but their cause wasn't helped by Mr owens.

One major thing to take away from this game, England are too heavy and slow up front. Their weight advantage was huge, but Scotland showed that weight isn't everything. When you have forwards playing like backs, and backs playing like forwards... you can blow away any team (except maybe NZ who pretty much own this type of rugby)
