Highlights from the 2023/24 season SDFA Southampton Men’s Saturday Senior Cup Final between AFC Totton and Hythe & Dibden at the Snows Stadium on Saturday 18 May 2024.
Leo Taylor gave AFC Totton the lead after just 32 seconds, with his first-ever goal for the club, and Leon Maloney doubled The Stags’ lead just two minutes later. Scott Rendell made it three with his 34th goal of the season in all competitions - his 70th for the club since joining in the summer of 2022 - before Leo’s older brother Ethan Taylor struck eight minutes before half-time to make it 4-0. Ex-Totton player Christos Papakonstantinou pulled a goal back for the Wessex League Premier Division side late in the second half, with a deflected shot.
This is AFC Totton’s third successive SDFA Southampton Senior Cup title, having also won it in 2022 and 2023, equalling the record jointly held by Sholing Sports (then known as Sholing Athletic; 1920, 1921, 1922), Netley Central Sports (then Netley Sports; 1956, 1957, 1958) and Sholing (then VTFC; 2006, 2007, 2008). No club has ever won it four times in a row.
