3 corners, 1 hit the bar, the other 2 went in. I was shocked as we were clueless on how to defend in those corners, they used to be a piece of cake for our defence, plus, Tsimikas, Minamino, and Origi need some game time badly, Mane just won't pass the ball in good positions.

@@nasifshadmanchowdhury5023 you have to distinguish scoring and being selfish, there was a situation in the last match when Mane could just easily passed the ball to Salah or Jota in a very open position, but he decided to shoot with his left foot. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Mane hater, but he really needs to think for the team in some particular cases. For Taki and Origi, I mean they could just come in at 65min when we are struggling to score.

I think minamino did good in the 10 minutes that he had. He covered the space left from Arnold, running back to defense and winning a ball against antonio, even when minamino is more lightweight than antonio. And in the end he win the free kick that would be our goal number 3 if Sadio didn't miss that chance. For me minamino and origi did really great.

Rather than withdrawing Jota, for me Mane would have gone out. Kostas Tsimikas is also better than Andy at the moment. Idk why Klopp has him on the bench sometimes. Naby the best midfielder in my opinion. Too bad he got a knock the other day

Both Mane and Robertson were struggling. The Hammer RB played very well. Hendo/Ox are solid, but not creative in unlocking defenses. They did nothing to help the left side attack, just leaving Mane + Robertson to try as best they could. I think Tsimikas would be slightly better in these situations, as he is a better dribbler than Andy in traffic and could cut in to discomfort the defense. I like them individually, but I am not a fan of Hendo + Ox as an attacking midfield pair. Better to have Jones, Keita, Thiago or Minamino to add some creativity. I know Klopp's options are few due to injury, but that is how I see it.

I’ll say what needs to be said: Origi needs more game time, as does Minamino, these players need to be breathing down the necks of the starting front 3/4. That only comes with trust and game time. Failing that, god damn do we need to buy in Jan/Summer. Midfield AND a forward. Stretched very thin. Not asking for a marquee signing, just someone very Jota-esque who slots in wonderfully.

The defense is brittle. VVD looked quite good, and slowly getting back to his old self, but he is one player. Matip, Fabinho, Hendo are on the slow side. Trent's best sprint is decent, but he does not have many good defensive sprints in him in a game -- as you say, he is exhausted. I agree with the idea of a back 3 with Ibrahim. Getting back to Matip, he is tactically brilliant as an individual, but too slow with the midfield cover collapses, which is happening too often lately. He was lumbering for the 2nd goal and was desperate to commit, when we needed to cover the passing lane and slow the play down. This is not one instance, it happened to him more than once in this game, and in other games as well.

West ham strikers managed to distract Alison from catching the (easy) crosses, while Matip slept during the counterattack... most of the match was on the left side until we conceded the 3 goal . The dead midfield had at least to balance between the right and left sides, they should believe it's okay to make mistakes to stop counter-attacks ... I hope we can do better next time

Hope you are right. By the way the team that was leading last season after 13 games imploded quite badly. All other teams apart from City chopped and changed and did not deserve to be Premier League champions. If we win our next 2 games we will have the exact points we had at the same stage last year. I Always get nervous everytime we lost the ball..since our side back were high upfront leaving remaining defenders easily overloaded by WH attackers. i think we need more variations on attack to create more opportunity. We were pushing too hard making low passess but eventualy no breaking pass because WH players already on their position anticipating. Many times we had 4-5 players on WH defensive line waiting for the ball..we should try more high passes on that situation. We need to make more long shots to add unpredictability and it would pushed the opponent to anticipating it..that could create rooms for our attackers. In the game like this i really miss player like coutinho that could brings the ball from side to center creating chaos to opponent defence, making room for others players.. adding dynamic.. Im sorry im not a couch not an expert. That just imagination in my head how we should ve played last night. Watching the game a bit frustating to me. Not that many chances for that many possesion..IMO.

I guess most of us saw this defeat coming for some time now. Our defence is too inconsistent to mount a title challenge this season. Midfield is depleted with injury prone players, attackers can't score whenever Salah is not scoring. You can't throw away a 2 goal lead against Brighton at home and be considered serious title contenders

Before the game we conceded 8 in 10, we conceded the 3rd least, it’s 11 in 11 now that still puts us 3rd. How is the defence inconsistent? This was just a bad performance, the boys just didn’t turn up. Flip flop fans are the worst, we lose its a crisis the defence is not good enough, we didn’t replace Gini, we need another forward. Flip flop? I have been supporting Liverpool for well over 15 years. Our defence can't keep clean sheets. We always find a way to concede goals. Sometimes our centre backs just stroll around. Talking about Gini, yes many fans wanted him to be replaced. He may not have been our best midfielder but he was rarely injured. I'll say it again 'defence wins titles' . 2 seasons ago when we won the title, we won many games by the odd goal. This season even if we are 2 goals up, the fans are still anxious. I don't see city or Chelsea throwing away a 2 goal lead at home to Brighton

@@B_razzer I'm afraid I'll have to side with OP here, our defence is too vulnerable for us to mount a serious title challenge, we're way to exposed when there's a turn over of possession, we couldn't protect a 2 goal lead against Brighton, we conceded 3 against Brentford, led twice against city and still couldn't protect our lead...west ham scored 3 against us today, we can't compete against Chelsea and City if we remain like this.

@@joered6344 when we won the league, we were damn near perfect. What happened today happened bc of bad performances all over the pitch not just the defence no one showed up today. And imo what Brighton did in that second half they deserved a draw. Chelsea don’t concede bc they play a crazy defensive system and they’ve got 7 cs (split Mendy 6 Kepa 1) we’ve got 6. There’s nothing wrong with this defence.

Klopp needs to do more rotation. Robbo has been off form for a while and Kostas has proven that he's more than capable of handling LB duties. He needs to *start* more often in the PL. Konate starting instead of Matip should also be more common as he's more physically imposing and also much faster if he needs to track back. Having said that, it's glaringly obvious how much we miss Gini. The man was rarely injured, and bossed the midfield in ways that very few players did -- his ball retention and tackling stats during his time with us have been exemplary. LFC should seriously look into getting a durable, rockstar CAM during the January window and phase him in as a first starter as soon as possible.

Robbo was very wasteful, pulling the ball back to nobody on a few occasions. Tsimikas might come in, the midfield were poor today too as was Allison. Fully deserved win by West Ham.

I don't think Alisson played bad at all. None of any conceded goal is his fault. 1st one he was clearly obstructed. VAR and other defenders should take the blame. 2nd one was a 1 on 1. Definitely midfield defense failure 3rd one was an unmarked close range header. Some comments on the official forum are blaming him. I want to say 'WTH are you talking about' to them but sadly I am not privileged to leave any post there.

Great performance Reds! This loss can be taken as inspiration of where our weak points are, and that's where we need to build up on. Also a tip, start getting Minamino and Jota going since it's Sadio and Mo will be out for 3-4 weeks in January-February. But other then that YNWA red men! This is our wake up call! Note:There seems to be some misconceptions in the reply section 1. I said good performance for a bit of cheer during this... Un familiar... period 2. The defence build up kind of needs to happen 3. I said Mo and Sadió will be out for 2-3 weeks at the start of next year. What i mwna bu that is AFCON, with them out the team, We need 2 replacements. Robertson poor crossing and at some point he noticed and started hesitating on whether to cross. Mane poor game and should have equalized. Origi and minamino should have come on earlier.
