Highline toppers are awesome. I've been wearing mine 5 days a week consistently for 18 months and yes, it does need a color refresh. But it still looks great!

Hi! I have an appointment next week for my first topper with Highline! I'm super excited! Have you ever tried a pony topper or a hustle wig yet? I wear my hair up or in a ponytail a lot so I'm kinda interested in seeing what that's all about. I also wear a lot of hats. I hope I can fall in-love with just one color lol I love EVERYTHING Sharon models! 😅

That is very exciting; congrats! You'll have a great time. If you think of it, please tell her I say hi - I have still never made it to her salon...but I own 7 pieces, I think, from her! I own The Hustle Wig and love it. I also own one of Sharon's pony toppers. I have to admit that I don't really reach for the pony topper anymore. I get better use out of my Uniwigs larger base thin topped pieces for a high pony in a cap, and I wear the hustle wig when I'm looking for a low pony or loose waves under a cap or hat. So beautiful! I love your videos. I'm really wanting to try a Highline but I'm worried the density won't be enough in the back-my issue is overall wimpy fine wispy hair that resembles cotton candy and doesn't grow past about 3 inches without breaking. So I need really good back and neck coverage. Honestly I should try a wig but I love wearing my hair up and I'm just not there, so I've started trying toppers. I have 2 toppers from Uniwigs-a mono and a silk...they're ok but the density isn't quite enough for me and the hair quality is an issue..I have a serenity topper and that's much more realistic-great scalp and lays flat, the density is great and the hair quality is very good...and I bought a nearly new Lusta on Poshmark that I just LOVE. The hair quality is absolutely incredible and the color job is gorgeous..also so easy to blend and the scalp is perfect. Also the density is perfect..so I'm wondering what you think of Highline vs Lusta, if you've tried a Lusta (and vs Serenity if you've tried Melissa's toppers)? Hi Irene. Thanks for the questions. I'm sorry that you are struggling somewhat to get the coverage that you want. It sounds like you have a lot of experience in toppers, which is a amazing. I have to be honest - I have friends with all of these brands, so I'm familiar with them all somewhat but not enough to compare snf contrast as I don't yet own a Serenity or Lusta. I can definitely speak to the quality of Highline through. I have 3 silk top wefted pieces from her, and all but one cover my bio hair completely at the back. It dries with a very slight wave. It's a silk top. It is heavier than a lace piece, but because I started with silk, I don't find it bad. 😊

Hi! I am looking into purchasing my first topper! I do workout frequently. Do you wear your toppers to the gym? Can you do a ponytail with it on? I do sweat some around my face, how would this affect maintenance/washing? Would it decrease the longevity?

These are great questions. I stopped gym workouts during covid, and grew our home gym, so this doesn't entirely apply to me, but if I am doing an outdoor sport, I wear a lighter topper inside my baseball cap. The Courtney from Uniwigs and my pony topper from Highline are my go-to pieces for this right now. You could absolutely do a ponytail with a regular topper - I just wouldn't want to work out in my everyday piece because I try to minimize the washing that do on it because this would affect the longevity possibly. How do you keep your pieces so smooth? I just bought my first topper ( uniwig silk top ) after my 1st wash it just looks dry and frizzy 😞

Not everyone can afford such expensive toppers. There are companies that manufacture them so there's no 'middle man'! All my beautiful toppers are from such a company in China that l discovered several years ago. They are as gorgeous as these toppers but were a fraction of the cost. Yes prices have increased significantly since post Covid but the toppers are still half the price. They are custom made.....so l chose hair type, density, base preference (nothing beats silk), length and size of cap. Two are at least five years old and still as new as the day l purchased them. I recently had a new one that l purchased cut and layered slightly from a wig company here in the UK and the woman could not believe how high quality my topper was....all of theirs were twice if not triple the price. It's best to go direct....besides most helper hair is manufactured from other countries

Thank you for the comment I have a video about this (differences between budget pieces and higher end pieces) that I plan to upload soon. I cannot recommend direct manufacturers because there is always risk at all, but I will share my experiences as I have them. Please see my other videos, which includes budget wig lines like WigShe. I am well aware of the varied budgets and needs of wig wearers, as I have navigated the buying experience myself on a teacher's salary. There is a difference in colouring when purchasing from a Noeth American company. Yes, their pieces are manufactured overseas, but they do custom colour work that is, in my experience, quite different. I'm glad that you've found something that works for you.

@@lifebeyondlocks mine certainly aren't budget pieces. An acquaintance had a topper from highline and she couldn't believe that she spent so much when my unit was just as nice infact if not better. I deal directly with the manufacturer and my whole piece is custom built from scratch...

I just bought my first Highline topper and she is gorgeous. It came with a center part but I would prefer a side part. The hair doesn't seem to want to do a side part so how do I do it? I have absolutely no hair topper experience so this is all new for me. Also, is it ok to use a hair staightener? She is very wavy and I prefer a straighter look. Any advice you can give on styling would be great.

Firstly, congratulations on your 1st topper! My 1st hopper was a Highline, and I have zero regrets about that decision. I often say that Sharon changed my life. It is entirely possible to change the part. It's actually one of the 1st things that I do to make my topper feel more natural for me. You need to wet the part in order to make that change happen more easily. Using a flat iron or curling iron her is absolutely fine as well - just treat her like normal human hair. I can make a video today to show you how to change the part. If you can be patient with me, I can post that this week. Do we need to wash them initially after we buy them. Also my bio hair is wavy. How do I get that texture without using any curling iron. Is it possible? Also which one do you like better, the highline one or the savannah uniwigs one?

You don't need to wash initially, but the texture might be different after washing, so be prepared to use heat tools to get the piece looking new again. In terms of texture, I have pretty tight curls in my bio hair. I flat iron and curl my bio hair to match my toppers. Highline and Uniwigs are very similar in some ways. When it comes to the 9x9 caps, they are almost identical. The difference is in custom colouring, hair texture, and price. Highline does great colouring jobs. Uniwigs uses Burmese hair, which actually dries quite wavy. It is.more difficult to straighten, but it might be ideal for you! Absolutely. Uniwigs has some great options at a lesser price. Human hair will always be on the costly side, though prices will range based on brand and hair quality. A synthetic topper might be a good option to start, as it would be a lower price point. Feel free to send me a DM on Insta if you would like.

I am not sure if you are even able to....or want to say.....BUT would you recommend Highline or Uniwigs silk top topper? I currently have one from Perfect Fringe out of the UK and it is amazing quality....but very pricey and I've worn it almost daily....minus weekends...for almost 2 years now and it's holding up. But it's time for a change and I'm wondering which company I should go with....any advice?

Honestly....I think it comes down to budget. The cap construction is verrrry similar between the two - I can't feel a difference when wearing Highline vs Uniwigs - but there is a difference in hair quality for me. My Highlines have fewer split hairs and the hair is all of uniform length. They are also a bit easier to style. Finally, the Highline pieces can be customized at the time of purchase by Sharon and her team. That said, Uniwigs comes in at almost half of the price, so that may be a factor, making them a really good affordable option to me. I don't find them to be particularly heavy, or I wouldn't be able to stand them all day at work. A monontop or lacetop can definitely be lighter, but it is a trade off for other perks of the silktop. Personal preference is so individual. 😊
