I am from Canada, and I find it quite appalling that the LGBT+ gets special treatment over Indigenous people, with all the ridiculous virtue signalling and pride colours in our face everywhere. Worse, is that pride month falls in June alongside Indigenous month. Why don't they move pride month to another month? You could not lead a normal life with the person you loved, or legally protect them on the same terms as a married same sex couple. You were made to feel shame. Glad June is nearly over, I can go food shopping again. Been boycotting companies in June that changed their logos to incorporate that awful flag: Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Asda. I love how someone brought this up. I always wondered why it was called pride besides the obvious but sometimes words and definitions have a different meaning or can be seen as different. I believe: If you're truly proud of who you are, why does it matter that you think everyone else opinion matters on a personal matter? Every normal human being knows not everyone will accept them even if they were the most acceptable individual. It's human nature. Not everyone's worth it to try to convince. Even if they are stuck in their ways, don't be angry. Just accept that they aren't the audience you want. Especially if they are respectful about it. Make it easier on yourself to accept yourself and surround yourself with a tight knit support system that matters (family, friends, etc. Not some randos on the street or internet) and being your #1 supporter just like the rest of us in our daily lives. In the end, it's our decisions ourselves in the end that impact our lives. We chose whether to listen to others or the rules or not. We have the final say. If you start hating yourself just because no one accepts you, you're truly making yourself alone and might as well have put the bullet in the metaphorical gun and shot yourself. The last thing you want is yourself becoming your biggest enemy. And that's the end of my hopefully motivating TED talk. I mean no disrespect and will admit I kinda went on a tangent here. Just felt like I needed to put this here. I believe every human being has potential and they should nourish it but sometimes your dreams need to grounded back into some reality with some hard facts of life. Be reminded of what you're fighting for but still being based in realistic ideals. And my advice here applies to everyone. Not just guys, Trans, women, minorities (not just blacks. I come from a majority black state/city where whites are statistically the minority), children, adults, etc. I don't have many friends who stick around (mainly due to disagreements or misunderstanding or fate diverging our paths) but even before my fiance came into the picture and even though my family supports my decisions, I know entirely it's up to me to pick myself back up. It's a inner strength moment because you can't always depend on everyone. Eventually they will be trying to get themselves back up from being shoved down and need your help. Return the favor. Effort is infectious and attracts people. It allures people to keep an eye on you. Also don't overwork yourself though. Just put enough to where it matters.
