I dont think this method is effective. Why not use heel toe or the slide technique?

Well... the question will be, which one is most comfortable for you? If heel toe or slide works well for you, thats ok too. Once you can play effectively with your technique, thats great! My suggestion will be to try this also and see if it works for you. Who knows, it might be easier to execute. Cheers 🥂

Not necessarily. Double kick is just two single kicks that are closer to each other than the other notes. Example. If you're playing quarter notes (1/4) on the kick and you play two (1/16) sixteenth notes close to each other... thats a double kick. They sound linked together in our ears but it's literally just 2 single sixteenth notes next to each other.
