I must disagree, Ive had a 2013 outlander for 5 going on 6 years and its never let me down once. The only "problem" is that for every mot I need new drop links, but I'm rural and travel a lot of green lanes. I'm not saying its the best car I've ever had, but honestly with a fsh and now just over 100k on the clock (50 when I bought it) it has never let me down.

Interesting fact, the Peugeot and Citroen versions continued to be made in Japan whilst production of the Outlander moved to Europe. So the the Euro versions are more Japanese. Plus great cars, 150k on mine, no major issues whatsoever .

As the owner of a 2015 2.2 diesel model, I find it to be a mixed bag. It has terrible driving dynamics, ALL of the body roll, slow and sluggish and awful fuel economy, getting mid to high 30s on a decent run, high 20s round town, the interior just creaks and rattles everywhere and the paint is as thin as tracing paper. On the flip side, the seats are weirdly comfortable, the oem sound system is really decent, it can seat 7 if you cut the legs off the back 2 passengers, has a massive boot if you fold the back row, and can tow way more weight than its meant to. A very nice work vehicle capable of mild off-roading and load lugging in comfort, but very dull and dreary to drive...
@spingybingy56103 ай бұрын
I really don't understand. I've had tonnes of cars and we had a 2.3 diesel euro 6 outlander. Granted was a top of the range one but that doesn't affect the drive. It simply drove surprisingly great. Really torquey and great fuel economy. Unlike other heavy cars it was decent off the line too. Very noisy on the outside but inside was very comfortable place to be. The interior was decent quality too. Perhaps they improved things in the fqcelift but I'm shocked at how much bad rep it has here. Oh and its been fantastically reliable.
@philleyland18473 ай бұрын
I've had a 2013 2.2 litre diesel since 2014, its the new shape and it's been the best car I've had for reliability. Had an issue with the AC sorted under warranty and an issue with the handbrake sorted on a recall. Other than that I haven't had any issues other than normal maintenance, brake pads, tyres etc.

Had a 2.0 diesel 7 seater. Bought for family and rugby transportation at the weekends as no matter where we went it never got stuck. Yes very lackluster to drive having come from a Mondeo ST but the Rockford Fosgate system and fold down tailgate made up for it 😅 unfortunately the clutch went and the brake pipes would need replacing so just became uneconomical to repair. Apart from brakes and tyres nothing of note went wrong. It was good whilst I had it and would recommend it for the use we gave it if you don't care about driving for pleasure 😂

Well dang Matt, I was thinking of looking you up when I decide to part with my fleet of 3 Outlanders! 1 x GX1 van, 1 x GX3 and 1 x GX4. 2011's and a 2012 - the facelift model of the one you have there. Previously had an 09 with the VW engine which was thirsty. I've not had the PSA engined 2.2, only the 2.3 Mitsubishi Mivec. The absolute 💩 we have given them defies the hatred! All have over 200k miles now and I struggle to kill them. The '11 GX1 has 235k miles and has been absolutely ragged. 1/2 tonne tractor weights in the front foot well, on its arse with weight in the back, up steep muddy tracks, over stumps. They eat track rod ends - £13ea. Overall, good on fuel (always 40+mpg), like I said tough, tow very well, plenty of power, brilliant tailgate system, superb Rockford Fosgate stereo with hard drive. Been very very cheap motoring. I'm sure I've peaked your interest 😂

The Citroen C Crosser. About to annoy everyone but my dads one was a dream.. well for the limited time we had it. It had 400,000 miles and was a drop dead ugly beige. But after 5 years of ownership iy never did a thing wrong. Used a lot for work duty and general half ass off-roady stuff. Full service history and everything. Eventually sold as he wanted an Xc90 which today i still remind him how rubbish that was as that ones subframe was fully rotted through.
