Im looking for one of these in Poland with a 3.0 V6 petrol manual instead of a CLK, it's unusual, unique and quite cheap to run because of the peugeot badge. Very underrated car and I love when something like this is on your channel, it shows people that you don't have to have an expensive car with premium nonsense attached to it to have something good.

“You’d swear you were in a luxury Car” because it is, despite the misconception that only Germans make Luxury cars, the French have made some lovely cars, especially coupes. I owned a 2010 Laguna Coupe and always had people come up to me asking what it was. Some even compared its styling to an Aston Martin (a stretch obviously, but it was a lovely looking car) The Started motor failed but other than that it was perfect for 6 years of my ownership. 4 wheel steering and a silky smooth v6, Bose stereo, heated electric leather etc I think it’s a UK thing, it needs to be BMW or Merc, which ironically have been some of the worst cars I’ve owned over the years

@@jdmguy44 Kinda balancing out now....do you not feel? Never liked French cars. Ever. (But this one would tempt me, I'll admit.) Germans are over engineering----- As per usual.............But the French did the same for decades...no body seems to learn the lessons of history. The manufacturers are in cahoots with the Government of the day to build rubbish.... recyclable rubbish.... they think this is green thinking. It is not. Any manufacturer in Europe could come up with a "Green Car" that would last decades...... therein lies the lie: They don't want to. And neither does ANY Government. This Green Nonsense is exactly that. And we are paying for it...on a daily basis. ULEZ etc.... and it is spreading to 'top-up councils' everywhere: it's a huge rip-off. Sorry, but Britain needs a "Boston Tea Party" moment to say to Whitehall: Enough Is Enough. Not paying these rip-off taxes. They cannot imprison you all. Oh...Correction... Yes they can... they can let out murderers and rapists and make space for you: The Decent Human Being....he or she who thinks differently. Welcome to Gulag Britain. Enjoy your stay.

I have a soft spot for Peugeot coupes; the 406, 407 and RCZ are all cars I really like. I think Matt's description is spot on; the 406 Coupe is pretty, the 407 Coupe is striking, although I think the Shark mouth look works on the coupe. After the work, it does not look like a car with 170k on the clock, you could easily convince me that has half that. It's another example of how a supposedly unreliable a car, or brand, can be reliable IF it's looked after, and that 407 has definitely been looked after.

Nerd time, the windows are not double glazed, they are laminated, (like a windscreen), most cars non-windscreen glass is simple toughened and shatters on hard body impact. This lamination adds a level of security and acoustic enhancement as the interlayer has acoustic reduction properties coupled with the fact that there is more glass by volume / weight and the additional glass mass absorbs more noise. The 'misting' you described is actually the (plastic) laminate interlayer starting to de-laminate from the two glass panes as a result of the glass edge becoming 'damp', in simple terms water reacts with the plastic interlayer with the outcome you see. It will inevitably slowly increase in area over time, it is likely that there was a slight manufacturing error in the lamination process which has led to preferential 'attack' at that location.

Cheap as chips, but comfortable for 4 adults and returns well over 40mpg. Always liked those Coupe wheels though - I'm looking out for a set for mine! The missing/broken screenwash cover and the corrosion at the front wing/bumper edge were both common things with mine when I first got it! On another note, I wonder how many of us car guys and gals will be setting down this evening after dinner for the last Grand Tour show.........

Bloody great car Matt. But switchgear awkward on the doors. The doors themselves are awkward so I always took 2 parking spaces 😂❤ 3.0L V6 is so sought after. Can't believe you got that for only £900. I had a 407 Coupe with the 2.2 petrol. Eventually put an LPG Prins kit on it and Hankook Ventus Evo II. It was such a f**king lovely car to commute 70 miles each way 5 days a week on twisties and motorway. Lovely wide stance, really good on snow and ice surprisingly. VERY hard on suspension parts as its a heavy yoke. I reckon its a far nicer car than the 406 Coupé because, let's face it, you're inside the bloody thing; not sat outside it. A bloody great car. Mine went to 170k miles before hewd gasket blew. Oil to coolant unfortunately. Plenty of poke in 3rd and 4th in the standard 2.2 petrol. The 3.0 V6 is a monster and will attract the right buyer (if you export it to Ireland and sell it to me for a bargain 😂😂😂 )
