I have been buying, building and selling cars for 40 yrs. The only experience I have with Turbo cars is the 3 300zx twin turbo cars and the one Supra Twin Turbo car I owned when they were still affordable(Late 90s). I left them stock because I was intimidated by them as appose to the many domestic "Muscle" V8 cars I owned and modified. Now I realize I can get more power from a stock engine that's boosted than with all of the head, piston and cam work in the world. I am excited again because of guys like you teaching an old dog a new trick on this new-fangled forum called the internet. Thankyou Sir!

As far as I know, the Pop-off-valve is not to save the compressor-wheel but to keep it spooling when you go off the gas.
@EatMyPropwash5 жыл бұрын
That’s an added benefit. The real reason is to prevent compressor surging/fluttering.

Just stumbled across you page. Like the videos so far. Just a bit of info for your Tech videoo. Someone stated that 409 ss is magnetic, which is true. All grades of 400 ss are magnetic. inco 82 or 309L to weld 304 to 409 mufflers, 309L is only good to 500 degrees. inco 82 for anything hotter. The old model T fenders was made from "i think" 410ss

Excellent video. Maybe do a video dealing with the Banks Sidewinder 4.0 kit. The turbo has an internal wastegate and the blow off valve is manufactured on the cool side. I have been going through blow off valves more often than I think I should be. Maybe a video on how to make it more reliable. Anyways thank you for the information.

I have a type of "turbo kit" on my car that consists of a tube with a 2-inch opening mounted on the front of my car, and this tube is routed under the hood to the air intake. The amount of air and air pressure that I get from this setup is great, even at 50mph. Best of all, it cost me all of about $15 to install. Will an exhaust driven turbo really give me much more air and pressure than with ram air on the front end going at 65mph?

Nice Job on the tutorial. I have better understanding of my turbo. Thanks!! I do have a general question. I just did my EGR delete on a 2004 Silverado HD Duramax, I noticed the difference immediately, but now I have oil coming out of my tailpipe. turbo seems to be working fine. I am thinking clogged drain or oil seal went out do to the extra pressure. Any thoughts?
