Raging Hunter 460 Magnum

This is a beast to handle wild beast. Overall, I have a favorable opinion of this weapon / tool. There were some early disappointments. I had two issues out of the box. 1. Target sights on an outdoor pistol. 2. Rough / Gritty action out of the box. After I corrected those actions, It was a pleasure to shoot. Two great companies that support making this a weapon better:

Good show.... Way to go Norm.................................I`ve used S&W front F/O sights for a pinned barrel on Taurus 480..A little file work and drill hole. Its a pleasure to listen to someone who knows what they are talking about.

Thanks for the great video. I bought mine a few months ago. Due to health reasons, I haven't made it to my range to shoot it. I didn't notice the front sight until you pointed it out. I will definitely get some sight paint as you suggest.

I just picked up this gun today and the pictures don't do it justice. The things the length of my upper leg because it got 10.5 in version. I'm getting one more as a backup because there are now moose grizzlies and wolves wear I live and I'm also going elk hunting for the first time this year at 48 years old. I've had to use guns many times but never in hunting this will be a new experience so I appreciate The information in the videos.

The aluminum shroud with a rail over a sleeved steel rifled barrel that is ported is world changing design.

I have a green fluorescent front sight on my X-frame 460V five inch full lug muzzle brake equipped barrel. Love it as I have had TK Custom alter the cylinder to take their stainless steel moon clips in 45 ACP. And the moon clip also holds to fire 451 Detonics, 460 Rowland, 45 Super and 45 Winchester magnum using Starline brass. My most versatile and favorite big bore revolver. And the 460 S&W magnum, 454 Casull, All loads available for 45 Colt and 45 Schofield.

About the "Taurus" step. I just bought a Smith & Wesson 686 Plus new and it arrived with swirl marks on the barrel and I could not budge the cylinder open. The shop owner could jimmy-it-open but I could not. This proved to me that Smith & Wesson can be a risk, whereas Taurus I bought prior worked properly. I am aiming for a 460 revolver. You answered a question I had about whether the front sight was black or bright. I have left-over florescent orange from a white to orange dot change two months ago. My purchase will be luxury - I don't hunt. So still pondering 5 to 7 inch barrel ... or 10.5" with compensator. Cheers

The Wiegaund picatini rail that mounts in the sights area, is only rated for a 3oz red dot so be careful with that one. They do make one that clamps on to the frame which is very nice.

What an enviable collection! Thanks for sharing your experience with your RH on the light primer strikes. Will keep that in mind when I buy mine. I had my heart set on a 357 Raging Hunter in 6.75" which I intended to use for range plinking. But it only became available after I put my money in a Ruger GP100 357 7-shot 4.2". So, the RH will have to wait. And even then, it's gonna be a contest between the RH and the Super Redhawk Alaskan which I've wanted for the longest time. By the way, where'd you buy the lanyard ring for yours? Keep the great videos coming!

I have the exact same pistol. I think Taurus should make sights to be replaceable on this revolver. I wasn't able to get the paint to stick. I'm going to try your suggestion.
