Highway 58 Mountain Lover's Leap Mountain expansion. April 2023 update. Patrick County Virginia.

Highway 58 mountain (Lover's Leap Mountain) in Patrick County Virginia is being widened to a 4-lane road. Each month, I post a quick update for the locals to keep up with the progress. Hubbard 1 Productions is not paid for the Highway 58 videos. This company feels that the time spent shooting and editing these videos is time well spent keeping the area informed.
I have been busy and finding good weather days to make these 58 videos is difficult when I have other commitments. So I was unable to produce an February or March video.
This month I focused on getting everyone a better overall picture of what the road will look like. I stayed at higher altitudes and got wider shots. Trying to come up with new ways to create these is a welcome challenge. This month Charlie Martin helped me by being a spotter on the longer shots. We had hoped to have motorcycles as camera platform this month but ended up using the Element for the Ground Shots.
Music this month was from (once again) Unicorn Heads. The song is called “Modern Situations.”

I've watched this project from the beginning. Still can't visualize what this highway will look like when completed. It's an engineering marvel!

It’s been thirty years since I have traveled this route. I would have never imagined something like this would occur. My hats off to all that are involved from planning to the boots on the ground.

Love the updates, it's still hard to believe and imagine all of this, every time we go down the mountain it shocks me. Never dreamed this would ever happen, the crews are doing a great job

It appears half the difficulty is maintaining the existing road.. Too bad there’s no alternative route - so they could plow through much faster. Great footage, though - thank you!
