Hi, I'm not familiar with American traffic habits. Is it possible to exceed the speed limit on such deserted stretches of road without being stopped by the police? Or are they lurking everywhere like in the movies?

Highway 74 does not enter the city of Palm Springs but rather Palm Desert. There is a big difference between the two. Both geographically and economically.
