I kept thinking it was stockholm syndrome, yet something in me told me it wasn't. its not just mahavir's honesty that veera craved, it was the desire to be free and alive. to live life imperfectly, away from the chaos and pollution, pollution not just caused by buildings and smokes, pollution due to the pretenses humans wear, the disguises they embrace. mahavir, on the other hand, was already done with life. he was tortured throughout his childhood, watching his mother's hardwork go unnoticed. what he found in veera was the illusion of his mother, the warmth a mother brings. i truly am shocked how imtiaz ali managed to portray everything so perfectly. thank you for your review as well.

The same thing happened with me by my step father when I was 6. I was literally shivering when she narrated her story. All the flashbacks were coming in my mind. Now my mother has divorced him but he did that with me for 4 years. That's my trauma and I can never overcome from it. Now I'm not normal like other kids. It has completely changed my personality. I am so underconfident, I'm always scared, it has affected my academics. I was never like this. I was very chaotic, very talkative. But now I don't think I can ever be that again. I've lost myself.

Phenomenon acting by the duo! What a lovely movie! Two people connected by a common source of trauma. Randeep's character was a goon & he wamted ransom but once he knew Alia's character has been through similar trauma as his mother, he wholeheartedly cared for her. Alia on other hand fell in love with a person who happened to be only one who protected her and never had wrong intentions for her. Quite obviously, Randeep respected all woman ad he knew whatever happened to his mother was disheartening, wrong and crime. A movie on Stockholm syndrome - Highway ❤

Lovely Movie... Could relate with the protagonist and her emotions on many levels. Very well portrayed. It is tough to get rid of a toxic family and the society for women. This story speaks of the elite rich family. The actual reality is worse in the middle class where the societal compulsions are more and the chase never ends. A girl from Middle-class background can't have the relaxed climax as shown in the end. She has to run pillar to post just to have a secured life with no intervention of the toxic family and society. And the chase never ends...

I felt this movie so deep ,as one of my relatives did same to me which was so cheap and dirty i feel so broken i cant focus on studies my parents think i am mad or something , i am very loud my voice is so loud i am always angry and everyone around me things i am mad my parents tell everyone that yes she is she needs doctor she had some disorder and this is so relatable. Beeing a girl is so hard because around me everyone says a girl like me is not acceptable this that i feel so detached from life its just so bad after watching this i cried for 2 hours and I cried even after the movie i wish everything goes well in my life and I find my people some day in my life ❤❤
