I grew up going to an old church that had a Hammond B3. I was also a fan of DP as a kid. I remember watching the lady organist playing her hymns thinking how awesome it would be to see Jon Lord stroll in with a Marshall and a Leslie. Lol RIP pal. You made your mark!

How amazing that all the years I could have lived I lived in the life and times of Jon Lord.

I was on Jon Lords concert with Symphonic orchestra in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2011. I got his sign on the promo booklet and also one of the 2 drummers stick which he played all concert. That was one of the best day of my life, also cos the last song was Child in Time. My man, that was incredible. God bless you, Jon Lord.

Today, we take sounds we hear in music for granted. When this came out, it was a very novel sound from a Hammond organ.
