RIP Michael Landon. Thank you for the land and park in Malibu. A place our kids play Little League Baseball, and we walk along the beach and have Picnics in the summer. Michael left us wonderful memories and a place for all of us to escape to by watching his many Television series. As a kid i grew up with a mother who was chronically depressed and highly aggressive. I love my mother, but i thank god that my grandmother took me and my siblings in for most of our childhood and gave us the love and care we all desperately needed and deserved. Watching this episode reminds me of my granny. I love you and miss you granny.

This episode shows how important it is for a parent to leave a fine legacy to their children. It is not a large inheritance of wealth but a fine upbringing, the great value of love. The children's behavior at such a tender age shows a fine upbringing. As for laws of the land, they are mostly made by people in power, made without heart and soul, made by people who hardly know much about the subject matter.

Watching this episode made me realize how sad it is that those boys had lost both their mother and father. 😢😢😢 But Im so glad that their older brother Josh did everything that he could to keep their family together. Family is definitely something that We all need. Let's all keep this in mind.

I love watching this show for so many reasons. The 80's sure had a certain tone and atmosphere to it that I really miss. Everything seemed to stand out and have more character to it, even the sunlight I swear was a different tone back then. Some of it may simply be the more hazy type of camera they used for this show that provided some of that vibe but there's no doubting the time period was very unique.

I grew up in Malibu, CA on PCH (my father's home anyway and he drank himself out of it. Losing my inheritance and dying in Las Vegas at age of 61) and we knew Michael pretty well. However, I didn't know this about MICHAEL LANDON JR. Thank you for the information Cindy. I am from an older generation and only knew these actors as a child because my father drank a lot near our home in Malibu. His buddies were Lee Marvin. James Coburn. David Janssen. Martin Sheen. (James Arness of Gunsmoke but, I only knew him when I was 9 years old as my dad's 'Army buddy' and man who offered me a job working with a 13 year old, Kurt Russell, who played PACKEY KERLIN a runaway cowboy/kid who was looking for his mother in Dodge City in an episode in 64' (I did the BLOCKING for camermen /crew). That was fun but, looking back I blew it by not following my dad's advise and playing the game. I wanted to SURF that week Vs being a child actor. lol Thanks again for the Michael L. Jr. Info. Cindy.... I'll check it out.....I hate TV shows today and only watch 1960's, 70's series' and some 80's. The Fugitive, GUNSMOKE (20 years & over 750 episodes....James Arness, Ken Curtis, Amanda Blake, Dennis Weaver, Milburn Stone who started in Stage acting, Vaudeville & many others brought us such joy. MY #1 show). MATLOCK (My dad's favorite show along with 'The Fugitive'). Highway to Heaven. BONANZA. JOHN WAYNE FILMS (I hated Wayne's pro Vietnam stance on WAR as I had orders to go to Vietnam and my buddies died for BS Lies about NAM...but, thank God my 1/46th 9th Infantry Division was sent to W. Germany instead. Dodged a Bullet/s Cindy (literally). Lots of bullets. A WAR FOR PROFIT $$ not a fight against communism as it was SOLD....Such BS. 59,000 Lost young soldiers. Thank God we have these wonderful Television shows today to remind us all of a 'BETTER TIME' and those hours spent with our families. COLUMBO too with the Great PETER FALK . PERRY MASON. I agree, but if it were I'd have a house full, well I'd need a mansion we have a lot of kids in town I believe at last known count about 74 who are actually homeless, and I'm sure several more who need a stable home. Trouble is the so called qualifications make it impossible for most including myself, yet those who actually qualify in many cases are quite abusive and really have no business having kids in the first place. Yet those who would love to have kids around have absolutely no way of helping.

This episode is definitely the best apart from all of the ones with Scotty and Diane. I really think we need shows like these nowadays that talk about and show what is really important. I got my moral compass from Little House on the Prarie and rewatching Highway to Heaven makes you feel really good. No need to buy anything or watch social media or get validation from society, just go out and do good things and don't be too hard on yourself as a person. It is refreshing, no matter what the circumstances and stories behind the people or events, this was definitely a great life's work.
